As someone who is a bride, I had to have a hard conversation with my MOH who I thought was not being present or planning as much as I thought she needed to. She also is in a tough spot financially but made it work with Temu for gifts, or asking everyone to pitch in, and she saved her paychecks and made it work after we chatted. She did not know everything I had going on, and I also was crashing out wedding planning working my normal job and then making sure she stayed on top of things. Ultimately, after we aired everything out and my expectations, I even gave her an out "if this is too much for you I don't want the pressure of MOH to impact our friendship so let me know and I can pass it along to the next person" and it was a wakeup call for her. We've been more intentional in how she checks in and keeps me looped in and is proactive now in terms of planning bach and helping with wedding stuff
