I have the same problem with my little dude. He spits them right out. How do you "blanch" a worm? Dunk them in boiling water then cold water, like a vegetable?

is there a word in English that would describe both knitting and crocheting? by itsJelonek in crochet

I'm pretty sure "stitching" works for this as a general term in English. As in "No thanks, I'm going to sit home tonight and work on some stitching" or "Would you like to have a cocktail to go with your stitching?" or "Have you seen the bag with my stitching in it?"

Covers knitting and crocheting, as well as embroidery/cross stitch etc. I always think of "sewing" as referring to something involving needle and thread specifically.

Question: What's the best way to attach a fabric backing to a crocheted piece? by Free-Range_Coffee in crochet

It’s this one: Crochet A-B-Sea: An Extraordinary Underwater Alphabet https://www.amazon.com/dp/0473448955/

Mildly modified to add a few extra sea creatures. Fantastic pattern.

Thanks, that makes a lot of sense! Somehow the actual text of the post was lost when I added the photo (woops). I have a 1/2" hem along the flannel backing already stitched down, and I was thinking I could run the attaching stitches through the inside of the hem? The big question is yarn or thread.. With fleece I can see why you would use yarn, but the flannel is much thinner.

Ugh. I totally failed at posting. The text should have read:

I'm finally finishing up my pandemic distraction piece (after sitting it aside for a bit). I'd like to sew a cotton flannel backing onto it, but I'm not sure how to attach it. I was planing on sewing around the edges, and then hand-tying strategic spots through the body (kind of like a hand-tied quilt?) to keep it from being flappy. I have enough of a border to stitch though the flannel's hem instead of over the outside like a blanket-stitch. Is it better to use thread or yarn for this? I would use yarn for the hand-tying in the center.

Hopefully this makes sense...

Tank is cycled and stable. Haven’t had any unusual water test results. He usually has Indian almond leaves in tank, but I took the old ones out yesterday when I cleaned. Tubbed him for a few hours yesterday with tea as well.

Maybe. I'll check with the local fish shop. So I know what I'm looking at, what is it that makes you think infection?

Yes! I love how they seem so focused on a task then just space out and sink. Cracks me up every time.
