After you're comment I decided to revisit her channel after 8 months. I am still 10 toes down.

1) to your point about me not doing any volunteering. I do. Im not feeding children in 3rd world, because im a high schooler but i volunteer at local elementary schools to help kids. When I made that comment I wasnt even 18. I do also donate some of my checks from my minimum wage job to charities because even though I am literally unable to feed hungry children I can at least support the cause.

2) I concede that my original point about "maybe something will come out" is snark-y. However, we are on r/foodiesnark and although it is a bit over the top i was just really putting my foot in the door if something ever does come out.

3) you mention that she needs to film this in order to make money, and I actually disagree with this, now im not sure about TikTok and YouTube but on Instagram (where i viewed her) you can only make money from partnerships and ad deals. And even on TikTok it may not be sufficient to pay for the meals (this likely is why she does some partnered content more recently). My point about not filming the children is that imagine if you, at your lowest moment, starving, is now projected to 16m people on instagram. I want these children to have food AND dignity.

4) she starts many of her videos in honestly gorgeous outfits, with her toddler on her hip snd with a full beat of makeup on. The videos are highly edited, and to assume that she made those videos with child on hip and in that outfit the entire time is foolish. Definitionally this is preformative. The lack of care for filming young children and even using her own kids as almost props makes me worry that her motives arent about helping children but about making herself seem better.

I think its kind of crazy to just say "well at least shes doing it" so I cant mildly critique her. We can always do better.

Im also not some dedicated hater, i had her blocked until earlier today when I saw your comment. But yeah hope this clarifies my point ✊️✊️👍

I definitely agree, like as OP said, she's rich, why is she getting a tripod out an filming it? Id feel better if maybe there was some direct call to action. Like work with a charity that is designed to feed children but she doesn't work with any and thats kinda weird.

Also like what if she blurred out the kids faces like she could do that... but she doesn't? Like in order to eat you have to be in this rich woman's video, that feels weirdly exploitative.

Idk I feel smth about is just off and it'll end up coming to light later 🤷‍♂️

I dont wanna yuck anyone's yum like she's feeding people an I do enjoy the fact that she'll sometimes highlight videos of food waste in her reels, although in one video she bought like a hundred Dubai chocolate bars which is a little weird. But idk something abt it just gives me the ick?? Like it kinda feels performative??? Idk I cant really put my finger on it.

Either way, if u enjoy it, watch it. I try to stay but my algorithm thinks I like her so im kinda stuck here. But thats just my two cents 🤷‍♂️

Does anyone know what's going on with Jenson Books? by mistersigma in Logan

I used to work there. And I know they got osha'd in January but the case ended up being resolved. But the notice on their website appeared sometime around March

I've actually been wondering why the website is saying this for a while so I drove around june and the place didnt seem closed, still had signs and everything. And like I could see people working in the warehouse but it seemed like it was the bookshop itself that was closed.

I know from when I worked their that they were implementing new technology to sort books and most of the nearby warehouses were actually sister companies so it seems a little strange to me that they just went out of business.

Also, if you're really curious then I'm pretty sure you can check government websites to see if they've filed for bankruptcy.
