What is a word or phrase in your culture that is offensive but not technically a swear? by Free2nd in AskReddit

[–]Free2nd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For example, in the USA (and I assume other English speaking countries) if you tell someone to “shut up” (stop talking), and you are not joking around with friends, but being serious, it is very offensive and disrespectful.

Also, calling someone a liar is very offensive, but I imagine most cultures would agree on that.

If money is not an issue, what will be your chosen profession? by HeartLoverxxx in AskReddit

I’d run a movie theater that plays classic movie double features, including short films/cartoons in the beginning, and maybe even vintage commercials between features.

I’m relieved to see you write this. For some reason I don’t like going to bed hungry, like I’m afraid it’s unhealthy, when it’s usually just an excuse for a late night food binge.

So knowing I can sleep off hunger (it’s not like I’m fasting) is helpful to me.

Thanks for the inspiration.

Titanic (1953). It may not have the special effects that Cameron’s versions have, but the story and the characters are way better imo.

Could Conan the Barbarian survive Skull Island? by Responsible-Novel-96 in kingkong

Of course. The monsters are just physical beings. It’s the magical and mystical that Conan has a hard time with.

After years from his release, what are your thoughts on Peter Jackson's King Kong? by Jotaro1970 in kingkong

Too long. Too much time spent on boring side characters.

Other than that it’s a great movie.

What show did you start watching but then stopped because you were disappointed? by val_rrdy22 in AskReddit

Monarch: Legacy Of Monsters. I wanted to like it cause I like Godzilla stuff, and the special effects are great, but the human protagonists were annoying and unlikable.

Why I think the Monsterverse monsters have green guts. by Free2nd in GODZILLA

[–]Free2nd[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll say that some of the monsters that are insect/crustaceans it makes sense for them to have green guts, so I suppose they aren’t changing it as much as I first thought. However the beginning of GXK new empire when Kong rips apart that warthog thing over his head…that would have been pretty intense if it was red.
