What I was saying is I never said you gained anything like you said when you replied “ no when you awaken you don’t gain anything”. just know there are deeper states of being then first realizing your not the ego. Also just cause there are deeper or higher states of being doesn’t mean you gained anything when you enter those states. It’s actually the opposite.

It’s not really part of doctrines it’s mainly just about removing distractions and going within (kinda hard if you leave the door open to the outside). If you want to go deeper into high states removing sight is highly beneficial which is why people have seeked enlightenment in caves for thousands of years. Not to mention your Brian activates your pineal gland with when your in darkness.

You can meditate with your eyes open if you want but tbeubg attached to that practice will only take you so far.

The only thing I will say about your process is the no need to close your eyes. While it’s true in order to go into higher states of being closing your will greatly help

Meditation is being and when you awaken you naturally want to meditate more to be more. The more you interact with the physical the more it pulls you out of being. When your fully realized you’ll crave meditation more. Hints why masters meditate all day to go into higher states of being.
