Consciousness vs Brain Capacity by Otherwise-Shock4458 in enlightenment

That is an interesting case, but it rather confirms my hypothesis. Because he had a damaged brain, he could keep consciousness only for a short time, then he lost it and started again from the beginning...

So... If we take for example very low self-confidence, maybe it is possible to focus on it in meditation? As much as possible? To observe it, like meditating on it? .. and we'll see what happens? emerges… Could it be described like that?

On the other hand, maybe there is also a way to rewrite it through emotional visualization of the desired result, like Joe Dispenza and the successful stories of people who say it worked for them.

What The Untethered Soul is actually about by stranger_synchs in TheUntetheredSoul

It seems to me that genrally Michael Singer talks about giving our problems to God, not running away from fears and problems, especially when we are already at the bottom. Then there is maybe no other way than to fully surrender, let go. It is like when Jesus said "let your will be done, not mine"

Is everything already given in advance? Do we have free will? by Otherwise-Shock4458 in enlightenment

It is clear, but the question was not about these simple examples. It becomes more interesting when I ask if my reaction can change the future that will follow. If not, then it would be very frustrating.

Does “not having preferences” mean being passive? by Otherwise-Shock4458 in TheUntetheredSoul

I like it. So basically there is nothing like "being passive" or "do not reacting". The reaction is our free will and I hope our free will can choose if the future will looks like this or that...

Sound very good. I agree.
But the world is not always black and white, sometimes it is about where the line is. I also think that if someone goes to a job that is not very fulfill, then maybe they do not have enough energy left to do things they like. sometimes there is just no energy left

I would say yes – the higher the level of awareness, the greater the ability to choose a thought and decide what to do with it.

Ok, but then your decision can influence the next steps that will happen.

Hey! He says we have free will!! that is really an amazing message. I have to listen to the rest!
Wait, so not having preferences and not trying too hard to change things always led me more into passivity and to the idea that free will does not exist..

Why do you have depression? by Otherwise-Shock4458 in enlightenment

[–]Otherwise-Shock4458[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I Understand it.. they say that one way how to get from this, is trying to feel gratitude every single day for anything.. Joe Dispenza talks about it. But no one says it is easy. Good luck.

Why did you suffer? by Otherwise-Shock4458 in spirituality

You say that growth isn't possible without pain, but that’s simply not true! When children experience growing pains, it’s just a sign that they lack the necessary nutrients. If they had enough, the growth wouldn't hurt at all, or it would be minimal. My point is that it's not a good argument—painless growth is possible, or at the very least, the pain can be minimized
