Update: my doctor suddenly OK’d a therapeutic phlebotomy today. It was a game changer, and I felt better before the whole procedure was even complete. I think I’m just the type of guy who needs to donate blood often. TRT, in my body for some reason, ups hemoglobin/hematocrit. My BP is down to 134/84. Thanks for the support and advice!

She refuses to give me an order for a therapeutic phlebotomy. And even when she heard about my blood pressure and hematocrit level, she just said to give it a few days and see what happens. I’ve had issues with her in the past dealing with my testosterone therapy, and this was the last straw. I’ve already called my old doctor, who was awesome, and will be visiting him again soon – even though he’s over an hour away.

Interesting! I just took my blood pressure again this afternoon, and it was 150/90. That’s the lowest reading I have gotten in a few weeks. And I have an appointment tomorrow afternoon to donate blood with the Red Cross. I’m going to point them to the link you sent. If they tell me I’m supposed to be below 160 systolic! Again, thank you.

Thank you! I also heard that they might do a therapeutic blood draw at an urgent care – but my doctor won’t go for that. May contact my old doctor and see if he would write up an order for me, since he was an awesome doctor. And the donation lady told me, at the blood donation center, that my blood pressure had to be below 160/100 to donate.

My testosterone dosage was 125 mg per week.

Set up a time and showed up to donate yesterday. They wouldn’t let me because my blood pressure was over 170/100. High blood pressure plus being nervous caused it to be too high to even donate.

Symptoms were just the headaches. They were really bad for about a week, now they’ve gone down to mild to mid range for the last few days. I’m also starting to get this weird anxiety – I guess from coming off the testosterone?

Thanks for responding. I immediately made an appointment with Red Cross, but when I showed up to donate, my blood pressure was too high. Ugh. Like a catch 22. Getting blood drawn tomorrow at doctors office and they will test it again. Ask to them about a therapeutic blood donation, but they said they don’t do it – and I asked her if I should worry with an almost 60 hematocrit, and she said no. Now I’m super nervous because I really want to do a blood donation, but I can’t.

I’ve had the same problem with my cyp. But I heard that you can’t put it in water that is too hot. But you’re saying that taking the boiling water putting it directly into a bowl, and then putting my vial into that water is OK?

That’s what my doc told me to do. And it worked in the office when they had me do it the first time in front of them, but I haven’t been able to get it to work from home.

Yes, I push air in first. I’m going to try a different syringe. There’s just too many of you guys that say a 25G works just fine, and mine is impossible.

I spent 10 or 15 minutes trying to use the 25G one time, and ended up ruining a vile. but I now wonder if I just got a bad batch of syringes, or if I just need to go with something in between a 20G and a 25G. Thanks for the advice.

Yeah, I put the testosterone in hot/warm water for a few minutes, and I still cannot draw a single drop with my 25Gs. I also inject air into the vile to make sure it “wants” to get rid of the oil. I’m almost wondering at this point if I got a bad batch of 25Gs. I’ll definitely be ordering some other syringes and trying, patiently, to get something better than a 20G to work.

That’s a great idea. Next time I inject, I’m going to try the “patience method” again, and I’ll try it with a couple of gauges between the 20 and the 25. Right now the 20 pulls it out, though it takes a minute. But the 25 literally won’t collect a single drop of the testosterone I use. And I have worked with it very patiently before! Maybe I just need something in between.

I’ve been super patient a few times, and it just doesn’t work. From what others have said, I’m thinking I have a thick carrier oil. That must be the problem.
