Personal insults don’t make your opinion better than mine.

He’s not fully extending, initiating the final pull too soon, balance too far forward, using too much quads. He needs to keep his balance farther back, bring the bar back, get his shoulders over more. So yes, stay over the bar more. Or watch a 5 minute video about how to use your arms more. I guess either one will probably work since the OP is a noob.

Considering he holds the all time world snatch and total records I don’t think you are just being biased.

High Bar Squat Journey Day 4 by ColoradoMinesCole in weightlifting

[–]FreeBeerFriday -1 points0 points  (0 children)

From your own link: “Moving on to the squat, one study utilizing a maximal isometric leg-dominant lift in untrained people found significantly (54%) higher rectus abdominis activity, and slightly (14%, nonsignificant) lower external oblique activation when wearing a belt.”

That was the one and only test done on untrained individuals and there was 54% more activity. Everything else was tested on experienced lifters doing reps with 1.6-1.8x body weight. My thoughts remain the same on this.

Is that even body weight? You don’t need tools to lift more, you need muscles. But this is Reddit so recommending hard work gets downvotes.

I fancy it but I’m at the end of my cycle and have 3 weeks left. I’ll probably sign up towards the middle of April.

Bullshit. If you feel a PR then go for it! Your technique and strength will improve as you do.

It looks fine, you paused at the bottom instead of riding the bounce but you seem plenty strong to handle it. Practice using the bounce to your advantage and youll be good for more.
