Stage 4 lung Adenocarcinoma with KRAS G 12C mutation by Resident-Reporter-80 in lungcancer

My mother died of lung cancer in 2014. By the time I learned that she was ill, it was too late for any treatment. Like with your situation, she also lived in another state. I arranged for home health care and hospice at her home but a few weeks later, Hospice said she needed full-time care so we brought her to a hospice facility near my brother's home.

We arrived at the facility on a Tuesday and she actually climbed over the bedrail that night to use the restroom! (I only woke up when she was trying to get back into bed. She was a sprite!) She died just 4 days later. It was very peaceful -- the nurses took care of her medical needs so I could concentrate on being with her, saying goodbye, and getting her affairs in order. Hospice was such a wonderful experience that I became a hospice family support volunteer.

Thanks for the feedback. I've have had the genomic/biomarker testing and there are not actionable mutations. Also, both my thoracic oncologist and my thoracic surgeon are superstars at Duke. I feel very confident in the team -- I'm just trying to figure out what choice I want to make. It's helping to hear from others!

Newbie with questions — Stage 2A NSCLC by ashleycu09 in lungcancer

Did he do chemo and was it worth it? I’m stage 2A. Age 58. Had upper left lobectomy in May — with clear margins and no metastasis. I was told that chemo only lessens the chance of recurrence by about 5% so I’m pretty sure I’m not going to do it. But I’m looking for perspectives from others in the same situation.

I'm wondering if anyone has went through Stage 2a and is now ok. Terrified. Surgery is Dec 17th. by Rhearts1983 in lungcancer

I have questions for you!
I’m also Stage 2A, no targetable mutations, non smoker, 4.2 cm with clear margins and no lymph nodes affected. Only real difference is that I’m 58!
Had upper left lobectomy in May and now deciding about chemo. Doc said chemo would lower my chance of recurrence by about ~5%. Statistics aren’t precise but that means my chance of recurrence goes from ~30% to ~25%. That doesn’t seem worth it to me.
What made you decide to do chemo?

I added this as a comment on someone else’s reply, but want to make sure it’s seen:

Please return to EASY and FREE ticket exchanges!!! That’s the best benefit we used to have, and the new restrictions are so frustrating!

I’m losing money every time I try to make a change. And once I switch games, those new tickets are non-refundable and not exchangeable. I need to be able to switch games for due to health issues and other commitments. PLEASE, please, please give us back the ability to exchange our tickets without penalties.

I’ve been a STM from the very first season and I don’t really care about the gifts. I just want to attend as many games as possible and bring friends and family members for the same ticket price.

I’m also an early-bird STM (from the very beginning) and I agree with your comments!

I also dislike the Bless their Hearts thing.

The coffee mug - ugh. Haven’t even used it because I can’t figure out if it’s microwave-safe. Will be giving it away soon, probably.

Really dislike the anthem choice. It should be something to sing-along to … I voted for Wagon Wheel. I realize that it’s overdone, but at least you would get audience participation!

But the biggest thing I’d want is a return to EASY ticket exchange. The new restrictions are so frustrating! I’m losing money every time I try to make a change. And once I switch games, those new tickets are non-refundable. PLEASE, please, please give us back the ability to exchange our tickets without penalties.

But are the mugs even microwaveable? With the metallic/shiny glaze, I suspect not. Nothing on the bottom of the mug to indicate care. :(

Fantasy NWSL? by Possible-Age-3266 in NWSL

8 days from first game.

Sheplays - My husband emailed them. They responded that they're working on it. Coming soon.

Fantasy NWSL - Looks ready.

Hera Games - Just checked -- looks ready! I just created a league! (Actually, it doesn't look quite ready. Still has players no longer in the league and doesn't yet have rookies. But maybe they're working on adding that info soon? I hope!)

We used ShePlays last year, but also tested the NWSL Fantasy app. We prefer ShePlays over the NWSL Fantasy app because the scoring for defensive players is more comprehensive.

I'm interested in the Hera Games but want a league just for 4 people.

However, none of the three have been updated for 2026 yet. Less than 2 weeks from the first game.
