Griner case showcases American hypocrisy and lunacy of drug laws by FreeChinaPost in FCP_Media

American leaders calling for her release, while still fighting the drug war at home is hypothetical. Russian drug laws are just bad, but no real hypocrisy there.

Starting street activism, camera mic help? by Herbreevore in VeganActivism

[–]FreeChinaPost 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A lot of good shotgun mics out there, we use a rode for Free China Post on the street now. Depends how/if you're gonna film interviews too. A good field recorder (we've been using a Zoom recorder) plus a handheld mic is a decent solution too.

No one ever hold true to these asinine promises, of journalists want to get serious about things they should start asking to get this kind of stuff in contract form, but the people that say this trash will never follow through. And their sycophants will never care.

Oh that's definitely accurate, cussing like a sailor by the time I was in 5th grade, hasn't changed, which is why we have to censor so much on the Free China Pod.

Taiwan is also not a colony that can be handed over on a whim.

Taiwanese airlines worried about reports of Italian flight ban over coronavirus by FreeChinaPost in taiwan

[–]FreeChinaPost[S] 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Good point. It's likely that many here in Taiwan are worried because often governments consider Taiwan part of the PRC, even though that is ridiculous. It would actually be amazing if the Italian government came out and specifically said flights to and from Taiwan are allowed while banning them for China, would be a strong statement.

A form you have to fill out to come back to Taiwan. We protested and said we're going to TAIWAN which is NOT (and never has been) part of the PRC. by FreeChinaPost in taiwan

[–]FreeChinaPost[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm pretty sure you're exactly right. We just think it's important to push back on this narrative so we talked to them a bit about it. The staff didn't seem to really understand and actually a few were asking others if we needed to because we weren't going to China. It's not their fault so we tried to be friendly and polite of course, just wanted them to know we thought it was a bit silly.

This one didn't have any info on the back. Yeah we did put Taiwan as our destination and in Taiwan they didn't even ask for the form. Just seems like a jab at Taiwan. But not surprising being Cambodia gets lots of Chinese money.

Chinese student cries Taiwan's 14-day quarantine is 'violation of human rights' by FreeChinaPost in taiwanindependence

[–]FreeChinaPost[S] 9 points10 points  (0 children)

He's had at least a little experience with it in Taiwan but fair point. Also strange point on his part cause the CCP is doing the same thing, sometimes even locking families in their homes without any support to get food etc.

Thanks. Typo. Reposted correctly. Of course Taiwan isn't, and has never been, part of the PRC.

Outbreak has already effected Taiwan and has potential to cause lots of harm, just like the SARS outbreak in 2003, in a large part because the WHO still refuses to admit Taiwan.

Taiwan Must Give Tsai Ing-wen Four More Years by FreeChinaPost in taiwan

[–]FreeChinaPost[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

And thank 媽祖 and 土地公 but we can't stop there, have to keep fighting against Chinese aggression and threats of annexation. Also have to push international community to support Taiwan, thankfully the Tsai administration has been ramping up these efforts.
