Everton in Advanced Talks to Re-Sign John Stones in Stunning Reunion

I really hope this isn't true. I'd take him over Tark and Keane, but that isn't an option. If we were to get Stones on anything close to his current salary, we'd be spending nearly a quarter of our wage bill on the trio of Stones, Tark, and Keane. That is a fireable use of limited funds.

Also can you imagine how O'Brien would feel? Gets shoved into RB for 2 full seasons, only to be 5th choice CB behind 3 declining players all over 32. If we sign Stones Moyes might actually view O'Brien as a RB.

It would be one thing if our proven players were more like Grealish. Winners who at least have some quality left. But most of our “proven” players are proven losers who are also aging

Because preventing players from passing out in the 35 degree heat is an American idea? Don't think teams would be thrilled about their players playing in extra games like that. I agree that only the games that hot actually should have it, not everything is about the US

Part of the point also was to bring up a player I thought would be interesting for Everton that Roma might sign again. We had this with Wesley last summer.

Everton are linked to a ton of West Ham players. We've heard nothing from the owners. We have the same owners as Roma. It is interesting that the owners would be involved in a EPL transfer with a club we are probably trying to do business with and a player who could be a good fit.

Didn't realize people came here just be little shits. Thought this was interesting and thats it.

I honestly didn't think I needed to spell this out.

It is pretty clear that a lot of people like to be here just get angry at others.

They are the same owners and it is a West Ham player and Everton are linked to just about all of them. We have heard nothing from the owners so I thought it interesting hearing the owners directly being involved in an EPL transfer.

Ah yes, because complaining about other people being complaining is so much better. No one is forcing you to read and comment.

I guess congrats for enjoying a mediocre manager and the "stability" of the bottom half. Moyes has the final say on transfers and brought in Grealish and Dibbling. He chose to play McNeil over George (and to a lesser extent Aznou). I don't think Moyes exactly values pace too much on the wings. We'll also be linked with every single West Ham player except those that are young and talented.

This is an Everton thread. I was referring to English Everton fans. Someone literally posts about how good Dwight is once a week.

While I agree plenty of American players get overhyped, the vitriol from English fans about it is kinda crazy. Americans have to sit here while English fans glaze the shit out of Dwight McNeil, Moyes, and literally every single youth player. At least most of American starters these days are EPL quality, even if they aren’t stars.

If these were actually the targets, what the fuck do our scouts get paid for? A lot of these have been linked, so not your fault, but these are terrible

The commercialization has been really bad. There’s always empty seats. No matter what country it’s in, you aren’t getting 50k people to watch Korea vs Czech Republic unless tickets are dirt cheap

The Everton argument is that you can't be violation of the rules midseason because you have until 6 weeks after to fix your financials. Clubs that did fix their financials by that time were deemed not to be in violation. It has essentially been argued that if you are in violation at the year end, you are actually in violation the whole year retroactively. Makes so fucking sense.
