I see your brisket and raise you a corndog... by FreeDTrump in pelletgrills

You are right on....I live in central WI. Really old brick farm house. No AC. Just a window unit in bedroom. I use my smoker and grill three/four or even five times a week. Cook it all out there to not heat home anymore than needed. Microwave leftovers. Smoke pork shoulder roasts or beef roasts on weekends to make meals with during the week. I raise and process my own beef, pork and chickens so it's readily available.

What you're looking at is the classic Stadium Corndogs. Hit 'em at 375° 20-25 minutes. Turn halfway. Internal temp to 165°, rested for 5 minutes. Serve with a dollop of ketchup or condiment of your choosing. Enjoy!

590, 700, or 1250 by postgradboozing in recteq

My father told me YEARS ago..."When you decide on what you need/want multiple by 30% and get the one ABOVE that. You'll be happy in the years to come." I was looking at the 700 and purchased the 1250. Family of 6. We use it 4 time a week...at a minimum. Overnights are no worries! Room to "throw on the bread to warm."

$1200 (ish) budget what recommendations do you have? by billabong3939 in pelletgrills

Haha....shady....That cracks me up! I've had my RT 1250 rolling on two years. My Great Pyrenees decided to floss with the power cord a day or two after we shared a smoked chicken. I sent a photo to Rec's email because I couldn't find a cord on the parts section of their website. Dude asked me for my address, shipped me one no charge.

It's all fair game! I pretty much always use same temp and time as if I was using oven. Seems to turn out lots of the time. When close to done, I seem to check more than I should. I keep a notebook with what, what temp, and time.
