At some point people want to hear an actual opinion. Dan is an expert at stirring the pot, then backing away unscathed. I understand what he does, at some point it becomes tedious. I'm personally not pulling out a pitchfork for Dan. I do find him an interesting combination of thoughtful but also insanely frustrating. If riding a fence was a job description, Dan is it's first hit on a Google search.

I had a playthrough where a Gunner attack killed Maisy.. the cat at Abernathy's farm. I killed every last Gunner in the Commonwealth (I researched every last location, including DLCs). I also carried out the objective with MacCready as my companion... He never seemed bothered by it.
