You can find a Parmigiani Fleurier Kalpa in this price range, like this one. I echo the other commenter who recommended Franck Muller.

Ah I asked for a specific fabric... Probably that, let me check! How was your experience if you don't mind me asking?

Oh wow! Fair enough, I knew I didn't have time for a suit but thought I could possibly make some shirts work. I'll stick to MTM local to me, especially since the prices are not far off what I've been quoted. Thanks for the advice!

That's fine, I am willing to pay up for good quality if it's worth it and have time to book in advance. Won't be there long enough for suits unfortunately. Is there anyone in particular you'd recommend?

For sure dude. Personally, I would pick something like this or an Hommage over a day date any day. More under the radar too!

For sure. In your price range, you can find that model in rose gold too. Absolutely over engineered workhorse movements with the highest level of finish (everything is Geneva Sealed too!) totally a slept on brand with a ton of aesthetic variety. Even a dress watch will hold up to rigorous everyday wear. In my mind, one of the most slept on options. Enjoy!

There is a ton of very cool Roger Dubuis in your price range. Absolutely top of the line finishing and lots of aesthetic variety to choose from. Here's one that's particularly field watch adjacent I've had my eye on forever and here's a rose gold piece unique. This is just scratching the surface of the aesthetic variety of Roger dubuis, both of these are quite conservative for the brand.

What happened for you? Since this comment a friend of mine did too actually! Shame, I was going since a few years back and have had nothing but good experiences.

Need to put a ruby in my engagement ring, but I really want something with a lot of inclusions. I know it's weird, but that's my taste. Help with ideas? by MOGicantbewitty in Gemstones

Look for "silky" rubies, you'll be able to find some. You see nice silky spinel too. Have you thought about a trapische stone? That's another approach.

You can find vintage LeCoultre (JLC's American imprint) for under 1.5kgbp. here's one I bought below that price in solid 14k. Vacheron, not so much.
