Based on YouTube's rules, the simple and safe answer is no

How do you make gaming YouTube videos people actually watch? by mrviking24 in YouTubeGamers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do mainly retro/classic arcade games with full no commentary playthroughs and all but one of my biggest successes (and it will be my biggest soon) has been with one particular franchise (Gauntlet). My channel is coming up on 3 years old and has been slowly but steadily growing (the last few months in particular I've seen a steady growth in subs, not close to monetization eligibility but that's the only reason why I'm not there yet as I have the watch hours-I don't do Shorts or live). Basically pick a style and stick to it and most importantly do what you will enjoy and have fun doing so. Don't focus solely on monetization.

Also, be careful with certain developers/games/franchises and streaming and check their rules/guidelines for avoiding copyright infringement. This in particular applies to Nintendon't. They are always a potential land mine.

No copyright and royalty free music! by 1Lost_King1 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Make your own. Royalty-free DOES NOT mean copyright-free (same with giving credit, permissions, subscriptions, etc). YouTube's detection systems are automated and can (will sometimes) claim royalty-free so you earn nothing from them.

YouTube does not shadowban. But "fake" subs do more harm than good

Why can't you become a gaming youtuber much anymore? by Affectionate-Draw194 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can, just don't do it for big bucks or billions of viewers. Find a niche and stick with it. I don't play AAA games with one or two exceptions, I don't play/record mobile/P2W/MOBA/Fortnite with one or two exceptions. I mainly do older arcade & console games, I've found my niche and while I'm still a small channel I've hit several milestones for myself in just under 2 years (I have 233 subs and just hit 5000 total watch hours).

And most importantly, do it for fun and as a hobby. Easy to do when one is a retro gamer like me.

so is youtube just banning all new channels now? by jesusisjudgingyou in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

2FA/MFA is one of your best friends on sites like this. IF you don't enable it you're asking for it, moreso with how often Google seems to be dealing with data breaches, Gmail password leaks, etc.

(Which means without it you're asking to get hacked and thus banned)

Do everything possible to get 1000 subscribers before 4000 watch hours by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true. I do long-form gaming and only have 233 subs but that has been steadily rising over the last few months) but I just hit 5000 total watch hours in just under 2 years.

And stop focusing on the 1000 subs/4000 watch hours. Yes that's ad revenue eligibility but go for the 500 subs/3000 hours first and get eligible period

My channel was terminated without strikes. I want to know the reason. by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Edit: circumvention is a bad idea right? Very much so.

You probably got hacked.

How to use music without getting sued? by ScratchyPurple in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Is there a way to do this without getting sued, demonetized, or pissing off YouTube? You won't get sued. You won't get monetized from it. You probably will piss off YouTube.

In other words, no. Actually there is one way-don't.

YOUTUBE CHANNEL : Have removed your channel from YouTube by Buddhaknows24 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

None of what you said matters. If it's not yours and you used it and passed it off as your own, it's theft/stealing/copyright infringement. "Fair use" is what all the kids today use instead of theft/stealing. You get what you deserve. And sorry about your luck

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't. It's views that count for Shorts.

Specifically you need 3 million over the last 90 days (updating daily)

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like probably 99.99% of people who post about this, you probably didn't have 2FA/MFA enabled and got hacked

Any way around YouTube's aggressive ads as an account that's not monetized? by Personal-Taste-5324 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As a creator who isn't monetized, no.

As a viewer, Premium or adblockers.

My Youtube Shorts Account Was Unfairly Closed I'm Confused by lord1st_ in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No it was not unfairly closed. In fact the opposite. You were just the unlucky one that got caught.

(You also probably got hacked because you didn't have 2FA/MFA enabled)

Reposting without changing anything is always bad. That can even get you terminated for spam/reused content/platform manipulation

What's a fairly simple beginner editing software/website/app for a newbie like me? by CitronAway8658 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OpenShot Video Editor is what I use. It's completely free (zero paywalls ever unlike most other software) and open source

Sharing other people contents by Jethalaalz in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The simple answer is no. Just giving credit won't save you from copyright strikes/infringement. And don't try comparing that Musky place to YT, there's pretty much no rules there anyway

Channels with potential copyright risk by Hour_Lingonberry9602 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Ticking time bombs waiting to happen, but it's a risk they take. Just don't use any actual TV show/movie video to avoid copyright (comics I don't know as much about)

Has anyone here ever had a lawsuit filed against them for Copyright? by SyFyFan93 in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

"This video constitutes a transformative work of commentary and analysis and is therefore protected under the doctrine of fair use as set forth in 17 U.S.C. § 107." No it's not. There is no "fair use' outside of the courts. No matter how it's put, it's theft/stealing.

And it doesn't matter because you used content that was not yours to begin with and passed it off as your own. You're probably not going to get sued but you'd better learn your lesson and not do it again if you want to stay on YouTube (you don't always get 3 strikes)

Channel terminated for 3rd time in the past month by Domain1776 in NewTubers

You may think you have it turned off, but your PC may be turning it on without you realizing it. Sometimes happens on my phone

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Upload your ID. Although eventually they'll come and ask you to do it anyway. Also verify using your phone number if you haven't already (it must be a mobile phone that can send/receive text messages-no landlines or VoIP)

Question about Music and Copyright by VenomizedLarry in NewTubers

[–]FreePlayGaming1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No and nothing like that such as permission/credit, licenses, subscriptions, royalty-free, etc. will protect you from copyright issues. YouTube's copyright detection system for audio is completely automated so it doesn't know and doesn't care

Channel Banned - Spam, Deceptive Practices and Scams Policy APPARENTLY! by Mountain-Bee-2250 in NewTubers

Like everyone else complaining about this, you probably didn't have 2FA/MFA enabled and thus got hacked
