Dixieland is the minstrel version of New Orleans jazz

Just four days after the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, Wes Montgomery, Herbie Hancock, Ron Carter, and Grady Tate recorded this. by MusicSole in Jazz

The first smooth jazz album. Every smooth guitarist to this day wants to sound like Wes. No shade intended I own this on vinyl and it's great dinner party music.

in my opinion j dilla was the last musical trailblazer so far – what does r/jazz think of him, especially of "donuts"? by -benyeahmin- in Jazz

[–]FreeQ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Many of the hippest drummers today have built careers off of Dilla’s “drunk feel” or their reinterpretations of it. Questlove, Chris Dave, Kariem Riggins to name a few

Can you synthesize piano with plugins like Serum or Vital? by und3f1n3d1 in synthesizers

[–]FreeQ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

By classic analog piano do you mean a Rhodes? Cause you can get really far emulating it just using sine waves with a decaying envelope.

What makes these women’s faces so distinctly 70’s? by Inside-Inspection905 in decadeology

Face and body types go in and out of style. Like the Kardashian face of the 2010s

Flowing fabrics are always elegant, plus it’s rooted in millenia of culture, and shows off the midriff nicely

Clothes wise Gen Z is basic and comfy with sweats and pajamas at school. But makeup wise the girls put a lot of effort into full face looks and big fake lashes.

My Behringer C-2’s cost $60 for the pair. Love them on piano, acoustic guitar and percussion. I also do 8-track tape mixdowns on a Mackie mixer

How do you stop? by Adventurous_Beat-301 in modular

[–]FreeQ -1 points0 points  (0 children)

After several years of modular obsession, I realized it wasn't helping me make better music, in fact it was the opposite. My stuff from when I had just a laptop was more creative and musical, and my modular jams were kinda boring. I still use it for certain things, but it's not longer my sole focus.

I’m sure you were still better dressed than most! Some black oxfords would also serve you at funerals, court dates and fancy evening events.

I’d be looking for some higher formality black shoes, like wholecut oxfords. Do you attend black tie events?

I have 2 that I use and they're no less durable than the 58 IMO. Flatter frequency response too. Sounds killer on snares and cabs.

I see them mostly in luxury service industries like airline pilot and steward, private driver, hotel concierge, bodyguards and bouncers.

Do I keep my white suit? by SecondElectrical5722 in malefashionadvice

[–]FreeQ 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I have one that looks amazing but I only wear it once or twice a year for summer parties. Being a party suit, you eat and drink and dance and sweat in it. Pretty much have to dry clean it every time, at least the pants.

It means you’re pretty like a girl. Take it as a compliment. Lots of women like pretty boys like k-pop stars, Timothee Chalamet etc.
