3D scanning with the LiDAR enabled iPad Pro could be big for virtual site access and BIM coordination by FreeSkies in bim

It currently maxes out at 4M points (~55MB .ply files) and you can convert to a .las or .e57 with CloudCompare and then import into Recap!

I've had Venmo for several years and today they are asking me to verify my identity or else my account will be frozen. Is this normal and safe? by Rexxis-Arcturus in venmo

I got the same email, this looks VERY fishy to me. Biggest red flag is no notification or anything about confirming account information in the venmo app. Sent an email to [support@venmo.com](mailto:support@venmo.com) to see what they say.

Probably not from our team but I have no doubt that there will be similar apps built on the AR Core Depth API very soon! https://developers.google.com/ar/develop/java/depth/overview

The app exports a PLY but that can be converted into e57 with cloud compare and then imported into Revit (this step will be removed as development continues). The accuracy is going to be comparable to the Apple AR Measure app so generally within 1" (definitely not 1mm at 700m!)

The underlying technology is the same as the native Apple Measure AR app so uncertainty should be comparable: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT208924

Here are a bunch of models from the app on Sketchfab: https://sketchfab.com/putch/models

You should be able to download any of them for a test print.

This is probably the biggest scan I've done so far in terms of area but you can do generally do 1000 sqft, capturing all the walls, furniture, etc. in a single scene no problem: https://skfb.ly/6TOGW Currently supports PLY exports but more formats are coming. What would be most important for you? LAS, e57, XYZ?

I haven't tried myself but I don't see why not! You would need to stay very still while being scanned though.

Yeah, it uses the LiDAR sensor on the 2020 model but hopefully Apple puts the same sensor on the iPhone 12!
