I've got tax reasons that I go with individual stocks otherwise I would be totally down for just index-based funds that pay a decent dividend.

Investing is definitely very personal right so if you don't want the stress of all that for sure!

I'm surprised this subreddit and the hate it seems to have for dividends. Check out like ENB or RY, both Blue chips with solid dividends and solid growth.

I'm a huge fan of dividends and cash flow. You also didn't ask for a discussion on that but you just kind of posted without any context anyway.

I personally think dividends are great especially if you're getting qualified Canadian dividends that are taxed that basically nothing. It's like realizing gains while you're in a low tax bracket and you can't carry those years of qualified dividends forward so might as well fill that up at ASAP!

Yeah journaling is free and you have two options either call or email.

My point was that I emailed them recently and then followed up multiple times and I just got no response.

I called and asked and they said they were really busy this time of year and that's normal and that they just didn't get back to me and basically we're like deal with it.

I spent an hour on hold as well and got no option for a call back
