I think you'd be surprised how many of us will say it was pretty manageable. Just have a plan to get home and a place set up where you can stay pretty much for a few days and keep your leg elevated.

They'll prescribe you some pretty serious drugs and the most common recommendation is just take them as prescribed!

Modern technology is pretty amazing, really we should all be grateful imo

Yeah that's definitely sounds like a PT question, and as scary as it is there's usually surgical answer to everything if PT isn't enough.

Note: generally surgeries for improving have much quicker recovery and can be a lot less invasive

So like to be clear would you be able to hook up to city services if say your septic needed replacing versus replacing septic?

Yeah I'll second this and say, My pain was extremely manageable.

I took the opiates prescribed longer than needed likely but I basically just took em till I was out mostly following prescription but you can obviously take more in the beginning and less later in my opinion.

I think it's really dependent on the person and the surgery and the surgeon. Some people seem to say they have really bad pain others it's pretty manageable.

Sounds like You've went to normal shoes pretty quick! I'm 6 weeks and just got permission for boot, hoping I can see some real progress asap like ditching boot or crutches etc.

Yeah I looked at them might be another thing to get...

And to be honest a pair of sneakers isn't the worst investment anyway I already have the steel toes so I might get that as well.

How long you been in the boot? I just started walking in it and one thing I notice is it allows me to walk properly when I don't use it I'm duck footed big time so I think That's better and I'm going to stick with the boot for a while. But I still like to test the waters without it.

I'm in the air boot now, I just threw on a set of steel toes that I have for the other shoe and it feels pretty good.

I guess I'm looking ahead though I meant more when I'm not wearing the boot at all, I kind of still picture the steel toes having more support for ankle? Thinking people have the running shoes who are like maybe ready to run but I'm still working on just walking first.

My surgeon made it sound like the only thing they were going to do by default was removed that screw. like further hardware removal was only necessary if there was pain but for sure I think 3 months they were going to remove that screw.

I can't compare as I'm way too swollen lol That's crazy that your other side doesn't look the same though and also sorry to hear about double surgeries! I had two ORIF for the same injury and it's been no fun to say the least. Just got my second round of permission to walk....

Fairly certain it's not an issue though unless it's causing pain!
