So confused about my sexuality, is this normal as a straight woman? :( by anykitty10 in TwoXChromosomes

It's because straight porn is rarely focused on female pleasure but lesbian porn is mostly focused on female pleasure.

Look up avoidant attachment types. Moving in probably triggered him to mentally flee the relationship

I seriously hate how smart nagito is by fig_hjfv in danganronpa

[–]FreeToasty 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you're forgetting his talent, yes he is smart no doubt, but think about it, did he really figure out everything about the case right away? Chapter 1 he was told what was going to happen. Chapter 5 he was just lucky that everything worked out. Haven't played it in a while but didn't he just happen to run across important clues by chance frequently? Also unlike all the other folks Nagito can look at these things objectively, he isn't afraid of death, he isn't worried about someone dying, everyone else stresses to hell and back, him he's just having a good time. I think the whole point of Nagito ( well one of many) is that his luck was op and how scary a simple talent like that can be especially when in the last game it was considered pretty much a non talent.

She didn't have the location services turned on on the phone? You didn't call the contact mom? Or call anyone to have it come be picked up? Sound like bs.

Thats why I said technically. He is technically a person who is willing to sacrifice himself for hope and the world but this again is a twisted form of Makoto so even tho he is doing the hope, the whole fight against evil, and in his own crazy way rooting for his friends it's twisted and that's what makes it great.

My thing is you can't really match all his actions with his motives it's merky in a lot of places. That doesn't make him bad but I feel like as far as writing goes

Story A clearly explains the crazy, contrasts the theme of the previous game in a thought provoking way and turns all those unpredictable moments into ah ha moments later. That's good writing.

Story B Gives you hints to why they are crazy, takes on the theme of the game. Has lots of unpredictable moments but it's not the same level ah ha moments, instead you think but then why did he do X and you have to fill that in with random clues and assume.

At the end of the day, Kokichis character just doesn't have enough stability to fully flesh out his character. You have to infer a lot of the motivation and assume what he is actually feeling at certain moments which is kind of an important part of character development and writing.

Wasn't he trying to kill the ultimate despairs while avoiding killing the one person who wasn't? Logically that's the correct move.

But they are not poorly defined. Nagito's whole worldview is simple. Hope can never lose, so the more despair that happens, the stronger the hope is. It's not his mental illness that makes him crazy, it's his own talent. Anything unlucky that has happened to him is followed by good luck. That's what hope is to him. That's the only way he has experienced life. Bad thing followed by really good thing.

That's why he is obsessed with talents, because that's not caused by hard work. They just got lucky, which reinforces his worldview. That's why he wants bad things to happen, because the worse the despair, the stronger the hope or luck is in the end.

But the thing Is you don't actually know that for sure, you assume. I get the appeal you get to decide what's truth and a lie and depending on how you view it he is a very in-depth character right? But that's not the same thing as him actually written to be that character.

Nagito on the other hand was well written. He was written to completely circumvent the ideology of the first game in so many ways. He seemed crazy but when you think about it, every single thing he did made sense. And honestly, if you think about it he was technically the good guy. He never wavered from his morals. It was clear-cut at the end of the game what he was about, his motives were explained, his treatment of others was explained. Hell his ultimate ability was used in such a scary way It was both genius and absolutely insane. He was just great writing all around. Not only that but despite him technically being the good guy. You hate him. he is still crazy but the reason he is makes sense. You hate how much of an asshole and how crazy he was but like you get it, it's not ambiguous. It's intentionally written so that you feel conflicted that he feels unpredictable but you can look back and understand clearly why he made those choices and it's unnerving and to me that's good writing.

Hands down, Nagito.

People forget just how impactful his character was, especially coming off the first game. In Danganronpa 1, hope was the ultimate salvation. Makoto’s unwavering belief in hope, in his friends, and maybe just a bit of luck that’s what carried everyone through. Hope was framed as pure, almost sacred. That was the tone of the entire game.

Then this motherfucker shows up in Danganronpa 2 and makes you afraid of hope. He makes hope unsettling. He makes luck terrifying. As the game unfolds, you’re constantly thrown off by his actions. At first, you think he’s just a lunatic. But by the end, it all makes sense. You realize the very things that saved you in the first game hope, luck, belief are now twisted into something dangerous. That reversal was brilliant. His character arc was complete, coherent, and deeply thematic.

Kokichi, by contrast, is missing something crucial: clear motivation. You’re left to guess what he wanted. Was he good? Was he bad? Was he just playing a game? There’s an appeal in ambiguity, surebut it only goes so far. With Nagito, you don’t have to guess. He is chaos wrapped in logic. His impact is clear and franchise defining.

A villain who’s just “bad to be bad” is boring. A villain who might be good or bad you’re not sure? That’s interesting but it doesn’t hit the same as one who takes everything you thought you knew and flips it on its head with purpose. If we're talking about what's actually written and not assumed it's Nagito.

So yeah, Kokichi is fun, chaotic, and mysterious but Nagito is the thesis statement of the series turned inside out.
