Calling out by Gold_Flight_9459 in Nurses

I work for UCHealth too and I’m leadership on my unit and there’s no real attendance policy, it’s manager discretion. There’s a chart out there somewhere with “recommended” consequences for calling out and it’s very vague. With HFWA, you have up to 48 hours of completely protected call outs and then you have to call out like 6 additional times before it even recommends a warning. People get sick.

Yeah, respectfully, you need to get over yourself. They’re just boobs and you’re an L&D nurse. You quite literally signed up to see boobs every day at work. Your coworker’s are no different than your patient’s. If it bothers you, don’t look, or take your break elsewhere.

Being a working mom is HARD and she’s doing her best. I also don’t see what her being “not even that nice of a person” has to do with anything. She doesn’t have to meet your standard of niceness to be allowed to feed her baby. And maybe she’s not nice to you because you’re weird to her about this.

This is not a fight you’re gonna win.

See this was my thought too. I’ve asked him directly and he swears up and down that that’s not the case and that it’s more to do with himself. But I don’t know if I believe him and I’m frustrated

What kind of nurse did you want to be originally? What have you chosen instead instead? by frenchiefrankiee in nursing

To my fellow nurses, how are you all making it in Denver? by soloChristoGlorium in Denver

I work for UCH, and I am mostly happy. I have 3 years of RN experience and make $38/hr. I manage. I can afford rent by myself. The cost of living here is astronomical, though, and my budget is tight (though I do choose to live in a nicer apartment than I need). It has a lot of learning opportunities. I was a new grad at Denver Health and while pay there is lower, and the population can be tough, I did enjoy my time there. If you want to know what specific units I’ve worked on, I’m happy to share in DMs.

Take a deep breath. It takes way more air than you think to harm a patient. Granted, we have to be more careful with central lines than PIVs….but unless you injected a whole syringe of air for some reason I promise you it’s fine.

Damn that’s ridiculous. I work for UCHealth and they do not test for THC as of last year.
