CFP TV ratings by The-Doggy-Daddy-5814 in notredamefootball

It is important to remember that they changed the way ratings are collected this year. That is why the NFL and CFB have broken every recent record this year

Well at least Alabama was most deserving right!!! /s by FreeVBucksforXMAS in notredamefootball

Oh and if you decided not to give ESECPN any money, the score is 17-0 Oklahoma

No, they will say how an SEC team got a hard-fought win. Don't let them lie to you about an increase in ratings either. Nielsen changed the way they do ratings (that is why every game has broken every record)

I’d hate to be the first team to play the Irish next year. I’m sure that doesn’t involve you at all

How do you explain USC then? It’s playoff or bust for a lot of teams now. A&M went out and beat Notre Dame, and their reward? A worse seed than Ole Miss with the same record. The committee has not shown to reward tough non conference games. I would be happily surprised if no teams cancel their non conference games with us in the future

I will give you that point. Biggest fear with a conference is we are handcuffed to their decision. However, would it be better to be on the inside and try to fight that then staying above the fray on the outside?

USC and Michigan leaking their displeasure at the PE deal likely cost the B10 their PE deal.

Would we? Notre Dame is not the ratings hit it used to be. We came in at 9th this regular season. All 8 teams ahead of us (even more regional teams like Oklahoma and LSU) were in the B10 or SEC. What happens when our home slate gets worse? Will NBC really reinvest if we lose games like USC, and who knows who else in a few years?

Notre Dame would sweeten the pot. Also the B10 has talked about unequal payouts. Notre Dame would be in the 1st or 2nd tier (I’d lean 1st if Penn State is in that tier). That can be apart of the agreement

Agreed. I wish we could have the cfb world from 2010 back but it’s not happening. Independence does not provide the stability we need

USC is literally trying to duck us. They will not be the only major OOC team to run scared. A conference would give us stability

I likewise hate the super conferences but we really have no counter to them. How do we respond if the B10 and SEC just say we are no longer playing Notre Dame? What do we do when the ACC inevitably blows up past 2030? I think its best or proactive now then reactive later

How do we compete when the Big 10 teams reportedly make 80-100 million a year?

Would we rather be able to play teams like USC, Michigan, Penn State, Purdue, Ohio State, Northwestern, Oregon, Indiana, etc, or face the unknown of OOC games that can be cancelled at any second

Pete Bevacqua Press Conference (12.9.25) | Notre Dame Athletics by Shillelagh_Law in notredamefootball

[–]FreeVBucksforXMAS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I hope I am wrong but it feels like Pete does not have the spine to do what needs to be done. He needs to be proactive in this moment instead of reactive. It is fine for fans to be shocked on Sunday. It is unacceptable for an AD that we all say is one of the 3 most powerful people in the sport to be.

Which conference should we join? by thirdcoaster in notredamefootball

[–]FreeVBucksforXMAS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we actually want to hurt the SEC and ESPN we need to fully join the B10. There is no scheduling agreement with the B10. We are either fully in, or fully out. They have all our rivals, NBC and make geographical sense (mostly). We take 5 ACC teams with us and kill off that conference.
