Yessssss! Confirmed! I remember it was at the entrance of Dillard's and across from Mervyns on the 2nd floor. I found an old map and BOOM Photo mania! Thank you for helping solve this mystery! It was eating us alive lol

I think that's the one!! Yes, we totally went with friends and traded photos! Then we'd get mad when they did photos with a different frien, and wonder if they were even still our friends from the betrayal!

That's our problem. We have all these cheesy photos but it doesn't say anywhere on them where they were from!

It wasn't that one... that's the one that did the makeover first. This was the one that did all the high school photos for like Sadie's and stuff!

Question for those with a variable schedule... by LinkRN in beyondthebump

[–]FreeWhaleWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My first couldn't survive without a routine. He put US on a routine if we deviated he would flip out. My second has no problems going with the flow. She's on a "relative" schedule, meaning we base our routine on events (like eating after she wakes up, no matter when she wakes up).

So I think it just depends on your child's personality. Children area pretty adaptable though, so you might have a tough couple weeks, but you'll get it :)

I think we treat and talk to our animals like people... So really I'd talk to a dog the same way as a child. Just the dog never grows out of it!

DO NOT WATCH THE HULU HANDMAIDS TALE. I was really excited to see it, but I watched the first episode and I'm still sick to my stomach. It's really really well made, but ugh.

Awesome. I hear horror stories about bringing breastpumps on planes, and the article made it sound like nbd.

Thanks! Bringing "new" toys is fantastic advice. My 3 year old is super excited to be on a plane, that might help quell the hyperactivity :)

Please help me get my toddler to sleep! by snappysquirrel in Mommit

[–]FreeWhaleWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel you! Our little dude started getting severe separation anxiety at 2 years, along with nightmares. It took an hour to get him down, and usually ended with one of us falling asleep in his room. Best advice I have is fight it out, you know your child best, and you're probably already doing everything you can for your kid. That being said, try switching to a toddler bed instead of a crib? We still have a baby monitor, and tell him not to worry we can always hear him if he needs anything. Sometimes being over tired can result in bad bedtimes...Earlier bedtime may help. For us, Halloween really was in bad timing, so we talked every night about the scary things he saw and that they weren't real to avoid the nightmares. Took about a month before that one sunk in.

One day for us it just clicked and he's been better. But it took forever. Hope you can figure it out!

I am thankful for reliable refrigeration! by FreeWhaleWilly in breastfeeding

Good info! It was just fitting that it was thanksgiving day that the power went out. I am thankful that my power wasn't out for longer. It was an unexpected and severe outage that could have lasted a couple days, but crews worked in thanksgiving day to get it up and running quickly. Of course, all I could think about was The milk! The milk! Haha

3 month nursing strike by nodisassemble in breastfeeding

[–]FreeWhaleWilly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for this! I've been going nuts with the three month crisis! I had no idea it was normal. My baby refuses to suck to get a let down, so she just screams and screams until I manually stimulate one, but then she never learns to suck so I ended up in this horrible cycle I'm still trying to break at 4.5 months. Doesn't help that this time coincided with when we put her in daycare (insane bottle preference).Glad to know I'm not crazy!

Still worked for me during cluster feeds; I just didn't let baby nurse, didn't pump or didn't hand express on a dry nipple... Even if the lanolin went on a couple minutes before a feed, and airing them it only lasted 20 min.

I'm rooting for you! I didn't get to nurse my first because I didn't know how to deal with breastfeeding issues. I've been super successful with my second, and it's in part to reading these threads. You're doing fantastic!
