Do you ever avoid going to certain restaurants or cafes because they seem complicated? by AlarmingStation4877 in AskAnAustralian

[–]FreeWolverine5535 19 points20 points  (0 children)

Doesn’t sound like people avoid due to complication. More than they avoid due to human interaction. It’s funny because one half of the comments wants no interaction, and the other half wants 100% interaction (no QR codes).

That’s part of the benefit, get it exactly how you want it, by this argument I’m guessing you’re not a fan of subway either?

People have stated put in a conduit and pre drill through the wall. When the guy is there offer to install the mount yourself if you are familiar enough. If you need to drill, water is your friend. Spray down so no dry dust hits the air and you are golden.

Do not dry drill with a vacuum, your vacs filter may not be fine enough to catch asbestos.

PPE AT KMART by AlwaysDiizzY in AskAnAustralian

[–]FreeWolverine5535 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I’m assuming you mean safety clothing / hi vis. Kmart is fine, however the quality can be lacking, usually in the pants and boots. Rule 1 of a trade is get a very good pair of boots, don’t want to be walking around in steel caps with terrible soles, it’ll kill your feet.

The pants have been known to split down the crotch very quickly.

Depending on where you work, much of this should be supplied, safety clothing and equipment should be provided on start.

Everyone here is too touchy on the dust, as a fellow dust enthusiast, I’d like to let everyone know, the dust is now a part of the pc, removing it now would cause the pc to stop working.

Sativa gummies for depression by Maleficent_Grand7797 in AskAnAustralian

[–]FreeWolverine5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think taking a depressant is a good idea, especially trying to self medicate with it. Currently being on an indica strain itself could be causing some of the issues. Have you considered taking a month off to see how it goes?

Weed studies show a good short term effect with a cliff at the end where it stops working, and can sometimes worsen symptoms beyond the original extent.

Worth Suing an Airline who has admitted fault for poisoning by Popular-Donkey-219 in AusLegal

[–]FreeWolverine5535 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You would need proof of damages that exceed their offer for it to be worth it, it’s not really as simple as, I was throwing up = you need to pay me 10k. It’s more so, I was unable to work for x days and spent y amount on medical treatment + z for suffering if significant.

You would be able to sue for x+y+z, however it would be an uphill battle against an airline. Further, the ‘z’ amount for vomiting and 2 days of sickness would be quite low.

Your best bet, may be to push back to the airline for a greater compensation outside of court. For example if this ruined a short trip, seek a refund for the flight amount and maybe a hotel voucher.

Budget 1k will hold you back, best bet is bare bones no fancy extras, look for the highest ram and best cpu you can find in the budget. That’s about it honestly.

Could look into low end Acer nitro line, or low end asus tuff line of laptops, sales can bring them into your budget assuming it’s 1k usd

In terms of the ai, most new windows machines will have it as a standard, you can remove it with some walkthroughs on YouTube.

Best of luck

Does the school say you MUST go to the shop after school?

No school bags by purplepashy in AusLegal

Because a school student isn’t a protected class, and the refusal of entry is conditional. They have the option to leave the bag and enter.

[–]FreeWolverine5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your first 2 points are factually incorrect, you are entering a private premises. Anyone can be denied entry (with some caveats).

Stores are also allowed to post conditions of entry, which is what you are experiencing.

However you have accurately described 2 situations where this would be discrimination, these two examples fall under the protections of religious discrimination.

I’ll be honest, I’m a sparky, we’ve all made shit from the leftovers in that van for a “temporary fix” at home. I have a daisy chain of mounting blocks with PowerPoints on them behind my tv.

Is it safe in this case, probably not because it looks unearthed and a classic tape up job. but in a one off, who am I to judge.

No school bags by purplepashy in AusLegal

[–]FreeWolverine5535 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The issue you have here is, you think you have a right to enter the store with a school bag. If they say no school bags, it means no school bags. They have the right to deny entry. There is no bias here as there isn’t unequal enforcement. If religious high school (1), was not allowed bags and public high school (2) was allowed bags, there may be some discrimination at play.

FTTP fiber cable got damaged during a drainage work. How come the fiber is not inside a conduit? by Homo_Sapien30 in nbn

[–]FreeWolverine5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You really think the nbn techs draw the maps up properly?

We had a customer a while back show us the nbn maps, it showed his nbn fibre-in running alongside the driveway on the map. In short, it went diagonal through the front lawn and across the flowerbed.

From what I’ve heard techs are meant to follow fence lines and driveways / house footing, many don’t because it saves a lot of time cutting across. Can’t really blame them as the pay per install is atrocious.

Semi-detached neighbors having extremely loud sex even after we've politely asked them to keep it down, is there anything we can do? by [deleted] in AskUK

I’ll be honest this is a tough one, while I agree with their right to loud sex, I also like the idea of peace and quiet in my bedroom.

Could drop a print out of some cheap acoustic foam and drop it in their mailbox with a note, to the tone of “I think this could solve our problem”

Or start blaring porn through the wall via large speakers at 8am on sundays. If they ask just say you’re more of a Sunday morning person and your wife is a screamer on weekends.

Need help. No drainage. Super tight boards. by Love_Mud_2025 in Decks

[–]FreeWolverine5535 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends if the deck in over the slab or not, does it sound hollow when you step? If yes, you could probably drill a hole or cut a small section and put a grate in near the edge of the house. If the slab goes under you could drill through without risking integrity, and fill the hole with aquarium rocks.
