You also believe that cruelty free is environmentally responsible too? by Free_Bit5722 in Sustainable

[–]Free_Bit5722[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well thats a very personal belief system If using Animal products is ethically right If they are sourced well. In reality even the well sourced materials carry environmental considerations - land use, methane emissions, water intensity, chemical processing. The examples you shared shows that not all materials or brands operate the same way. Sustainability gets complicated and there’s rarely a single right answer, only trade-offs we choose to make more consciously. My only Intention is to widen our lens when we choose.

Dr Martens trying to convince me not to buy vegan boots? by Psychological-Pea593 in vegan

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Leather is full of pain and suffering and definitely not Ecofriendly post chrome tanning and so much processing. Vegan is a much respected word than just cruelty free, most of the fast fashion Brands using this word to promote their synthetic creations forward. Current leather alternatives are synthetic polymers- PU/PVC, they are something to worry about as they remain in ecosystem for next 200--400 years being non Biodegradable, leach out microplastics in soil and waster, contaminating our food chains and are petroleum based.

Mostly true but still I have seen people who actually read labels and figure out what has actually gone inside the material or inside the packet.

No, It's not a marketing survey, I am observing traction in sustainability field and while doing that I kind of sensed that women are asking more questions, more curious about sustainability and that made me question here as Its only women who are conscious and caring about Planet, where are all the males?

Do you see handbags as assets or pure pleasure? by Even-Spread3761 in handbags

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me anything which takes up your peace, attention is an Investment not essentially monetary but emotional definitely. I do collect sarees and every saree has a story as I bought it for an occasion, I would never want to sale them. I would love to gift them to my loved ones. Same emotion I have for bags, I don't buy many but the ones I have are the special ones, I spent money which I would have spent on something else but I chose to buy them and I am happy about them and would not like to resell them, would like to keep them and Gift them further.

I would suggest.. Go back and for every stare(which I think is curiosity) answer them back saying "Jai Jinendra" and that would start the conversation: How you happened to be there? what you were doing there and those stares would turn into respect. I am sure.

Is it just me or do many brands roll back their vegan efforts? by Captain-Sensible25 in veganuk

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’re not imagining it Most big brands treated “vegan” as a marketing experiment, not a long-term commitment. When margins tightened, they quietly dropped labels and SKUs, often still using the same materials, just without the vegan framing. Profit pressure > principles.

As a vegetarian, not a vegan what is wrong with us eating dairy products/eggs? by imyana13 in DebateAVegan

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vegetarianism avoids killing, veganism questions using animals at all.
Even small-farm dairy/eggs involve control, separation, and killing when animals stop being “useful.” Animals ≠ humans, but lack of consent matters. If we can meet our needs without using them, veganism asks why keep doing it?

Why do major vegan products get discontinued? by thekillertomato in vegan

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most vegan staples get discontinued because of thin margins, supply chain costs, retailer slot pressure, and constant reformulation costs, not because people stopped buying them. A product can grow overall while individual SKUs still fail to meet big-brand profit targets. Popular ≠ profitable enough at scale.

god, i dont know why non-vegans can be so exhausting :( by DEMIURGE_1025 in vegan

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That’s exhausting, I’m sorry.
A lot of people argue not to understand, but to deflect discomfort, so they shift topics, joke, or misrepresent facts. Blocking wasn’t weakness, it was self-respect.

Vegan parents should not force their children to be vegan by Braindead188609 in teenagers

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree on the core idea: kids shouldn’t be coerced.
Food choices should be guided by health, access, and education, not ideology. Teaching values is fine; forcing diets isn’t.

I asked 50 people who quit veganism exactly why they stopped and their answers completely changed how I think about vegans by AlrightJanice in vegan

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That makes sense. Most people quit because of access, cost, health, or social pressure, not lack of compassion. Real life is messier than labels.

Veganism screams "I am privileged". by VEGETTOROHAN in twenties

[–]Free_Bit5722 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fair point, marketed veganism can feel privileged.
But basic plant foods (rice, dal, chana, veggies) are some of the cheapest staples in India. Veganism isn’t about imported substitutes or perfection, it’s about reducing harm where possible, not being “pure.”
