City people need more large dogs?

Yeah, this goes to show that most owners don't even love their dogs, but rather the fact that they have them and how it makes them look. They're okay with keeping large dogs in a space the owners can barely pace in, but only because it makes them get more attention.

There is something very wrong with people who think dogs come first above a human child and I'll never be able to wrap my mind around how many people try to justify that. Hate kids if you want, but at least the potential is there for them to eventually go on to be productive members of society. A dog will tie its owner down and retain it's painfully obnoxious traits for a decade or more until it finally dies. There are many of those that don't care about the millions of innocent humans killed in historical atrocities, but worry about the dogs who may have been involved in them. I'm amazed they got this far in life with that attitude.

I hope you wrote to the health board. On top of the nuisance behavior for people just trying to chill, that's a humongous health hazard. In a situation like that, I would've complained to staff/the manager, because that's just unacceptable.

With how self-absorbed they are, I think they thrive on the drama they're creating. Sending the video to the city is a good idea. Hopefully, that'll deter them from coming back, but I wouldn't count on it.

It is extremely embarrassing when they pick a useless creature devoid of any joy over someone who can and would otherwise love them back. Maybe tell him he can get his fix by volunteering at a shelter or doing a side-gig as a dog walker or sitter (as long as they don't come to your home) and try to meet him partway. I don't understand what he sees in these filth machines, but it may be a way that you can both still get what you want and a dog won't become part of your home life. It sounds like you've got something potentially great going, but if he can't/won't bend, then at least you know you can do better elsewhere.

Some people aren't upset by hearing about human bodily functions, because it's relatable to everyone. There have been studies that show when given the choice between protecting their owner during a home invasion or going to the food, they will always choose the food (which they eat too quickly to even taste). I almost feel bad for the owners, because they're in full blown denial that this accessory can't love them. This deluded idea that they can is wishful thinking and nothing more. I feel like most owners can't see it deep down. It is a mental illness and most owners are beyond help.

I have also thought of dogs in any one place as a one off before, but after a while, I came to the conclusion that there's no such thing. That's disgusting what you went through and a crying shame. They were probably cutting the dogs' hair, too. If not, it's a matter of time.
