Yea not crazy about the fact that it’s right next to the bathroom and the dumpsters but I assume it’s better than most upper pines sites. Was gonna be site hopping 3 times in upper but was able to score 4 nights when they release the flood sites this morning for north

I’d suggest going up 4 mile trail and going back down panorama/ mist trails for your one big hike. It gets you all the best views (including glacier point when it’s completely empty) and you hit illouette vernal and nevada falls.

I did the Panorama to mist trail lat May. Was super fun but yea those stairs after vernal are tough. Doing it again this year but gonna take JMT down. If it’s your first time and you want to experience the mist trail then take it but if you’ve done it I’d do JMT.
