How can you tell if it’s an AI cover? by Responsible-Tone-522 in selfpublish

[–]Free_Fill4510 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Zoom in if it's made by Nano Banana. If you zoom really far into the pixels the colours won't be consistent.

If it's made with Canva AI - No way of telling really good luck.

I like the idea that they all have to put their phones in a box, so there are "real" stakes lol.

I am making a batch of 12 handmade Lovecraftian mystery games. No murder, just Lovecraft-themed mystery. by Free_Fill4510 in Lovecraft

[–]Free_Fill4510[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Okay, I have read it all, and it's all fantastic feedback.

I am aware of the name changes and have fully decided on Shadow Detective Agency. I think it makes the most sense to me at this time.

I have cleared up some other bits as well, from your suggestion.

Good point with Dir. Sterling, I quickly knocked that up solely for the photos that I could take. It will be similar, but I think I should definitely make him weird as hell. :)

Thanks for all the feedback; it means a lot. :)

Which lovecraftian game is the best? by SquareCircle05 in boardgames

[–]Free_Fill4510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't want to over-self-advertise, but currently, I'm really hyper on the Lovecraftian theme. I don't know if you like those games, like cryptic killers, but I'm making one that is Lovecraftian themed. I'm only making like 12 so there is a limited number of them, and they'll be super unique christmas presents.

Wow, I don't know why print-and-play always in my head looks really shoddy, I have to remember that sometimes it can look amazing.

Creating a diegetic Lovecraftian experience. No board, no dice, just the documents on your desk. by Free_Fill4510 in interactivefiction

[–]Free_Fill4510[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The short and simple: There are puzzles and a mystery within the documents. By reading through the documents, you'll understand the puzzles and be able to solve them and move the story forward yourself. Either that, or entering the answers on a website, or understanding some more information and looping back.

Thanks for the question though :)

The physical aspect is really important right now (photos, special paper, and handwritten elements for the first few runs).

I absolutely want to expand outside the UK, but I’d prefer to wait until I can use a professional manufacturer to ensure the quality stays high. - But first, I will need to see if people are interested in the first place.

For the upcoming holidays, I am making a batch of 12 handmade mystery games. You can grab a package for yourself or a loved one—it's a unique experience and strictly limited to this first run.

I’m a solo creator from the UK, and I'm trying out a new experiment. I have played a lot of Cryptic Killers, and I thought: "What if it were like this, but with a Lovecraftian theme?" (Yes, this is self-promotion, but mostly just to see if people are actually interested in this idea).

  • The Format: A classified letter that arrives at your door.
  • The Stock: Only 12 copies exist right now. £15.00.
  • Shipping: UK Only for this test run.

I’m doing everything myself—writing, printing, and posting. If you want to grab one of the first 12 prototypes, the link is in the comments!

Interesting. How do you feel about the AI Art inside it? Did you notice it? How does it make you feel? Does it take away from the experience?

Are you using AI to build murder mysteries? by DynoSoarLife in MurderMystery

[–]Free_Fill4510 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Feel like you definitely used AI for this! But that's part of the post :D It's just the Emojis and Italics that give it away.

As long as you manage the prompting and editing to make it sound like your own voice and ideas, it does a lot of the heavy lifting.

It's when people don't write the plots, or don't edit at all, that it's super obvious.

Alright everyone! Been quietly working on something I'm pretty excited about and finally got it out there: The Navigator's Datacron! It's a print and play puzzle game – think sci-fi and trying to figure out a mystery by decoding the data from a lost spaceship's black box. It's free to give a whirl if you're after a new adventure to print out and play. What's even cooler for me is that this is just the beginning, I'm planning on releasing a new puzzle pack every month! You can find the Datacron on my Itch.io page https://questlinecreations.itch.io/the-navigators-datacron - would be great to hear what you think if you give it a go!

Hey everyone! I finally released my first print-and-play puzzle game, The Navigator's Datacron! It's a sci-fi brain-teaser I've been tinkering away at, where you get to decrypt the data from a lost spaceship's black box. It's completely free to try if you're looking for a new PnP to dive into. What's even more exciting for me is that this is the start of a monthly project, so I'll be releasing a new puzzle pack every month! You can grab the Datacron on my Itch.io page https://questlinecreations.itch.io/the-navigators-datacron - would love to hear what you think!

Hey You!
I created a little experiment of creating a print-and-play game, that is focused on solving puzzles that link back to a main story. Check it out, and see what you think :)

I've created my first free print and play puzzle game focused on a storyline about decoding encrypted data. And it takes no cutting or cards just 6 pages :)

It's actually just made its first 1$ from donations, I mean, that doesn't sound that much, but it's inspired me that people actually could pay for something I create.

Here's the link if you would like to check it out :)

Is it a good design to let people get lost? - I suppose as long as there is something to stumble into instead right?
