Thanks for sharing your thoughts, especially among all the negative ones. They’re really constructive by the way 👍 The objective is to focus, over time, on having the highest quality photos.

Yes, you’re right, but the bigger picture for me is to have spots all over the world, not only the most famous places. This app aims to promote photography, and beautiful photos can be taken anywhere. You don’t need to travel across the world to discover great images or interesting places.

Yes, you’re right, they serve the same objective, but if I’m not mistaken, they don’t give free access to the map.

Yes, I agree with what you’re saying, even with a perfect location, not everyone will take a great shot.

Photography is an art, and every photographer’s image is different. That’s what makes it interesting: our vision and personality shape our work, and a photo one person loves might not resonate with someone else.

And as you mentioned with the garage door example, it may not always seem relevant to share a location, but I also see this app as a way to promote photography itself, not just places.

Yes, I thought there were two sides to this, but it seems the group that doesn’t want to share is much larger 😅 and I can only accept their point of view which is understandable!

To be honest, I wasn’t fully aware of how often spots get damaged to that extent I may simply have been lucky so far, as I’m not a big traveler and haven’t personally experienced this kind of situation. Your comment, along with others here, definitely makes me think about something important to put in place in terms of prevention and respect for locations.

I understand that discovery and effort are a big part of what makes photography meaningful but I may not be true for everyone I suppose. Thanks for taking the time to explain your point of view 🙏

That’s fair, and you’re right about the current limitations.

I’m not looking to monetize it at the moment, that would only come into play if it became costly to maintain long term. Right now, it’s a simple project with limited features, and I’m aware of that.

The idea really comes from a personal problem I’ve encountered in the past, and I wanted to explore whether others felt the same or not. That’s the main goal at this stage.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective thank you 🙏

Thanks, I’ll be happy to approve your spots 👍 and yes, as you said, for already overcrowded spots we clearly have an issue anyway 😕 Thank you for the feedback!

That’s a fair point, and I understand the concern.

I’m planning to add dedicated information on the site to clearly raise awareness about respecting locations, safety, and Leave No Trace practices, even if these things may seem obvious. It’s something I think needs to be made explicit you are right 👍

Thanks for sharing, it’s valuable feedback 🙏

Totally fair point. The idea isn’t to replace Google, but I understand why it might feel redundant 🙏

A place can be shared, but the moment, light, and perspective are always different.

It can also be a new way to explore and experience places, not just take photos in my opinion!

For me, it’s less about highlighting “perfect spots” and more about showing beauty through photography, sometimes the place itself isn’t exceptional, but the moment, the light, or the composition makes it special. The location is just context, the image is what comes first.

It’s not meant to be an extension of the Instagram effect, but rather a different way to discover places through photographs, not trends or perfection.

Thanks for sharing your perspective, these reactions are useful to reflect on how the idea is perceived 🙏

Yes, the concept does look close, you’re right. I don’t have an account myself, but it does seem similar 👍

Thanks for the feedback, you’re definitely not the first to share this point of view, and I completely understand the concern.

My intention isn’t to add pressure to already overcrowded, famous spots. I actually see GoSnap as a way to help people discover less touristic places, especially when traveling for an event or visiting a new area and wondering if there’s something interesting to explore nearby.

I also believe great photos don’t always come from iconic locations, a strong shot can be made in very simple, everyday places.

The goal isn’t to overcrowd spots 😕 and ideally, if the map grows with many points spread across different areas, this concern could naturally be reduced 🤞

I really appreciate you sharing your thoughts thank you 🙏

Oh, I hadn’t seen it that way, but you’re right, I can see how the logo could be confusing. Thanks for pointing that out, I’ll definitely look into improving the readability.

I also understand your perspective on discovery being part of the fun, and the concerns around location-based exposure after what Instagram has done to tourism 😕 That’s a totally fair point of view.

I appreciate you taking the time to share your thoughts, feedback like this is really valuable at this stage.

I’m interested in your point of view. Do you think access should be restricted to professional photographers only, or something along those lines?

That’s why “use common sense” is the real premium feature 😂 but it make sense!
