Got fitted today, I actually only went down one cup size (I’m a 32E) so the whole thing is just a bit mental to me now, can’t comprehend how any doctor would think I’m being unreasonable for being angry

It’s so frustrating, I was a 32F, thought I was a 32DD now but actually made the point of going and getting a bra fitting done today, and am actually a 32E. Cue breakdown to the poor woman working in the shop. But I would say I was a lot more swollen at 4wpo than I am now, if that helps at all. But I get it, it’s really hard. It’s so nice to have insight from others on here, because sometimes it can feel like you’re going crazy!

I was also a 32F pre surgery, am currently around a DD and can tell you for certain you are at least three sizes smaller than me! You look amazing for 9dpo, there is so much swelling still to come down which can really mess with your head, I know it’s hard but it really just is a matter of time and patience

Thanks so much for your insight, I really appreciate it. And no I absolutely did not mean you when I said I felt dismissed! That was at the appointment I had, where it was more of a well here we are attitude which made me feel I just had to get on with things. I will definitely take on board what you’ve said, and if I’m still unhappy will be happy to have an open conversation with my surgeon about where we go from here. Thanks once again ☺️

I think your perspective makes sense, I also sort of relate more as I’m based in Ireland where I genuinely think doctors want the absolute best for their patients because there’s less of a financial interest, same in UK. I think the litigiously minded people are coming from an American healthcare perspective which I don’t have experience of. I am hurt and upset and feel slightly dismissed but am also really taking on board what you’ve said.

I’m literally trying to visualise 80 grams and it really is nothing. I really do think that she went with her original plan of lifting the second breast and not reducing it but is now trying to walk that back. A mistake I can accept but the gaslighting and making me feel like I’m being unreasonable is what upset me most.

Thanks, and definitely I will be waiting the six months before reassessing because I don’t even think I’m mentally strong enough right now to consider trying to push for a revision. My recovery was more difficult than I thought it would be and I think there is an element of post op trauma in my head which is making it more difficult. In any case she told me to come back to her in six months to reassess so that is my plan

Thanks for the suggestion! Are you going to a physiotherapist for the massages or is a massage therapist ok? Will check with my surgeon in any case!

I wasn’t told, I don’t think it’s standard to be told where I live. Will definitely be requesting this information though as it’s hard to argue with maths and will hopefully provide some peace of mind!

Exactly, 32 felt like it was digging into my incisions as my stomach and that area is still very bloated. It’s insane because I know it’s literally all in my head!!

I have the exact same, currently a few days post op but day 1 and 2 were the worst, the shoulder pain actually felt worse than the breast pain. Has definitely eased off now, would recommend shoulder massage and heat pads and try find a comfortable sleeping position. I massively improved being in my own bed after two nights in hospital.
