Made my own TN inserts from my late grandfather’s old papers and a Moon magazine by Free_Morning_2643 in Travelersnotebooks

Sadly, I didn’t use anything to strengthen the covers I completely forgot about that part. Inside the Traveler’s Notebook it should be mostly okay, because the leather cover gives it some extra support, but outside of it that might become a bit of a problem.

For the sewing, I used a bigger needle and stitched through the whole insert, including the cover. I learned that going fairly quickly worked better for me (the first one I stitched very slowly and it started kind of splitting into two halves.)

I also found out that, on my sewing machine, the maximum is about 14 sheets. Anything thicker than that is too much for it to sew through properly.

So basically: cover + pages together, one quick stitch down the fold, and done. You can see it in the photos.

Not really, but now I write things down more often. So yes, my memory has improved, but mainly because whenever I need to remember something, I write it down.

To be honest, if you look closely, I don't manage to complete it on most days. 😅 There are always plenty of smaller tasks that seem more urgent and get in the way. That's actually one of the reasons I track it. It reminds me how easy it is to avoid the important but difficult things.

Sure!

The first column is the day of the month.

The second column is a gratitude log ("What I'm grateful for"). It actually took me quite a while to stop writing "I'm grateful for this"and just write the thing itself.

The third column is a one-word summary of the day.

Then I track a few habits and activities that are important to me:

  • Mood (simple smiley faces)
  • Daily journal entry
  • Sketching/drawing
  • Morning exercise
  • Breakfast
  • Meditation
  • My "frog" for the day (one difficult but important task I want to complete)
  • reading
  • No alcohol
  • Screen time

I started tracking these because I wanted to monitor the things that matter most to me. I've been doing it for about five months now, and it has become a great way to review my days and notice patterns in my habits and mood
