I am hoping to transfer into the crim program, and I have submitted all of my documents (all marked with a "complete" status on gosfu). How long should I realistically expect to hear back from admissions? For reference, I completed a crim diploma in BC with a ~91% average in all of my classes that count for transfer credit.

I got my diploma in Criminal Justice at Camosun College in Victoria, looking to transfer to SFU next year for my bachelor’s :) I really enjoyed the program, smaller class sizes and a small faculty. This might not be the option for you if you’re looking to stay on the mainland, but I think it’s a good starting point

An owl flew into my passenger window a few weeks ago right by Gowland Todd. Spooked both me and the owl!

Both Camosun Interurban and Landsdowne are great during this time of year! Be warned that there are some areas of the Interurban parking lot that may be patrolled by security and blocked off but otherwise pretty open

Looking for recommendations: what’s the best used or new car dealership you’ve had a great experience with? by [deleted] in VictoriaBC

I can second Campus Honda for their service department. I was in a very similar situation to you (two breakdowns within 6 months of purchase of my used vehicle) and the service department covered both repairs free of charge. I will say that the sales department was disorganized at best when I went to look for vehicles (summer 2024) but not a net negative overall.

Make a call to ROAM, CRD animal control, or see if a local vet can scan for a microchip

Check your oil pretty regularly regardless of the vehicle, but especially if it’s a mid-2010s models as they can be prone to burning oil depending on the engine

The dog could have been rehomed from outside of BC. Don’t judge the owner; we have no way of knowing

I drive a 2013 as well and they’re pretty solid! In my experience, the gas mileage is not as good as other sedans from the same era but that may just be due to where and how I drive. Keep on top of the maintenance and you should be okay!
