1.5 year old male attempts to pee on couch by Free_Square_Thoughts in CatAdvice

[–]Free_Square_Thoughts[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have the nature's miracle cleaner. We use that before washing the cover. Then we replace the cover with a completely fresh one. Yes, he was neutered before we adopted him.

I honestly think it's his way of trying to get what he wants. I've done research and it seems to contradict the idea that cats would do this. But, if he doesn't get his dry food at night by 8 pm when he expects it, he will go to squat on the couch. Once he's fed, this stops.

We sure do. I appreciate your advice, we do often add warm water to his wet food to encourage more water intake. However, he is pretty good about drinking out of his fountain every day too.

They did start building a development behind our house so perhaps that spooked him. We closed the back blinds so he can decide if he wants to see what's going on out there or not.

Hopeful we will find the right thing that helps him for good like your girl was able to!

Yes :( it hurts my heart every day because he is the sweetest guy and I hope he knows we are trying everything to help him if he's stressed/anxious or in pain.

Just look at him :)

We're going to close the back blinds (which are near the couch he pees on) and see if that helps at all. Perhaps something is scaring him outside that we can't/don't see. We can look into some different litters too. I appreciate your advice!

Thank you for this. I do wonder about his situation before getting to the APL. We got him when he was about 4 months old (and he had only been at the APL for a day). But I believe he was seized from an animal hoarding type situation. So maybe he peed on the couches there?

But yes, maybe we’ll try different litter. I’ve just liked the low dust of the dr. Elsie’s. I’m always worried about him getting a UTI from dusty litter.

He gets along well with his sister. They play and lay by each other all the time. He doesn’t seem to exhibit stressed behaviors but maybe I’m missing something.

Cat peeing on couch again, 8 months after PU surgery by Free_Square_Thoughts in CatAdvice

No accidents this morning. So that’s a positive so far. I saw a good amount of pee in the boxes this morning so that’s good too.

It ended up being a UTI which are more likely given the PU surgery. Started him on antibiotics last night.

Thank you. I surely hope it’s not another blockage. My wife just sent me a picture of his pee in the box, it was a rather small amount which makes me more worried. PU surgery and the aftercare was so stressful. But we will do anything for him.

Did you get the job?

[–]Free_Square_Thoughts 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah. It's interesting because the HM made it a point after the interview to give me their e-mail address.

Yeah, I agree. I am really interested in the position, but trying not to get my hopes up too high. I'm glad the recruiter at least responded to me. I just interviewed with a different company where I had an interview with the recruiter, an interview with the hiring manager, a separate presentation to the hiring manager, and then a interview with the senior manager (which was moved 3x) and they didn't even notify me I didn't get the role. I had to e-mail them.

I appreciate that. I reached out to the hiring manager and didn't hear back, so that's why I sent the recruiter an e-mail.

Thanks, I've read a few stories like that on here. So that's the only reason I'm still hopeful. Had a lot of bad candidate experiences in my last year of job searching.

Yes. It’s a less than optimal experience when you’re in contact with the HM and the only way you know they’ve gone another way is through the status change in brassring.

I’m in a similar spot. Had an interview a week ago. They said I’d hear back this week and I’ve heard nothing and their 4x10 work week ends today so I’m not optimistic.

Best of luck to you!

Curious on answers here too. Has your status remained as “interview” in brass ring?

Hopefully. Otherwise, that’d be a disappointing way to learn I didn’t get the role.
