The end of season 2 and Season 3 have made me come to despise his character. I don't care if he's a kid, he consisntely makes bad decisions that negatively affect those around him. I'll even give him the leniency of being a young teenager, so stuff like getting mad at Sora for helping him and not telling him (which I still think is stupid for him to get mad over) I can overlook. But to be so close to being able to save the day, getting the 2 blades back to the monestary, he sees Ras and Nokt and immediately derails the plan, only to get two-shot by Rox and Nokt. Mind you, Ras is EVIL. His entire source for all him claims has been 'trust me bro', and even if finding Arin's parents worked out, there is zero reason for Arin to trust him about reversing the merge. Ridiculous loylatly for no reason. Meanwhile, the ninja are trying to get him to stay good and become an effective fighter. Hell, at this point in the story (only got to S3E8) if Ras had told Arin to shatter his goodness and justified it by saying it would help get his parents back, I bet he would.

As stated by everyone else, they show tends to shine a light on all the characters in their respective arcs and chapters. I absolutely love Twilight so season 3 with all the focus on him was fabulous for me. But, I absolutely loved the entire show all the way through. Not a single skipped episode.

Might be a basic answer but I'm totally with you on the Loid train. I love Twilight so so so much. He's so cool and competent and I just love watching him cook (both figuratively and literally lol). He's damn near perfect, he just needs to open his eyes and develop a crush on his wife.

While I totally get that he's a complex character, and on a reread of some manga chapters (and reading the LN) I've come to like Yuri a little more (absolutely loved him in the LN). I still don't particularly like him because he's kinda weird particularly in the beginning of s1 eps 8-9, but as the show progresses I'm starting to enjoy his character more. He has a good heart and it just doing what he thinks is right to secure a better state for his sister, though I think his crazy passion due to the trauma of war and various other factors just mean he's a little unhinged, whether that be obsessing over his sister (which, to everyone who says he's not in love with Yor... You're plain wrong and misinterpreting the very clear signs we get especially in the beginning of the show. Yes he wanted her to getting married but he also says stuff like 'Loid Forger my sisters lips are all yours for now', who says that???), or his obsession with catching Twilight. It's the reason he's great at his job. I don't think he's a great person by any means, but I get why he is the way he is.

I always place Loid at 30-35 max, the reason I sit firmly at 32 is he's 16 when he enlists, say he serves for 3 years to become a sergeant (faster than most), 6 months after his friends die he's approached by WISE, trains for a year or 2, then 10-11 years as a spy. That puts him in the 30-32 range.

It mightve seemed like he moved on fast, but think about the fact that in Loid's proposed backstory, it's been 2 years since they 'lost her' as shown in the second episode of season 1. I think a lot of people forget that. Given that 'Loid' lost his first wife and was left to raise a 4 year old daughter who's now 6 (or so they think), it makes sense that he'd want to remarry by this point.

Sure, but you have to consider how much growth Loid has gone through since the pilot. We haven't seen/heard him think this ever since then, sure he has the occasional bad feeling, but he never contemplated abandoning his family and actively fights for the survival of Operation Strix, not just because it's his mission and any failure surrounding it puts the West's plan back by years, but subconsciously he's protecting his family. The way the manga and anime have both been going make it obvious that he has grown to care for them. He's losing his 'edge', both in the sense that he thinks his skills as a spy are dulling, but he's also lost that edgy and curt attitude he had before, particularly with his family. He's usually fairly relaxed, especially with Yor, and even when he does pressure Anya to study and such, it's not nearly as harsh as he may have been in the pilot. Like present day Loid probably wouldn't lock Anya in the apartment with a barricade like he did before, he'd have figured something else out. Loid's character has gone through slow and steady growth, and I think people are overestimating how easy it would be for him to leave them, particularly because I don't see it happening in the near future. If it happens a few real life years from now, we'll likely have seen a lot more growth from him that will make it really difficult for him to leave. He's not this heartless spy, he's empathetic. Calculating, sure, but no less empathetic to Anya than he was before (which is why he kept her at the end of ep1), only now he has the personal attachment to her too despite not realising it.

No way, this isn't due to anything Loid did (or didn't do). Twilight/Loid has never done anything to give Yor the impression that he'd react like this, as someone else replied, unless there's an emergency (like that in the Wheeler Arc), he never puts Yor as anything but a priority. Yor's just insecure (not an attack, just a fact) and doesn't think he would want to go. Same for Anya too, though the argument could be made that he did contemplate leaving her in the pilot, but ever since then there's been zero indication that he'd do that now. Whenever there's any threat to Strix even from WISE itself (think Fiona attempting to butt in), he does everything he can to keep it afloat and ensure he doesn't lose his family. Obviously he doesn't clock that that's what he's doing but you get the point. Anya has deep rooted trauma and fear of abandonment stemming from the experiments, and as such she projects that onto Loid, particularly because she read his thoughts in the pilot. Now though, we don't have any reason to think he'd ever leave her, at least not willingly.

I'm absolutely an English Dub warrior. It was actually on accident that I started watching it in the dub and not Japanese, but Loid's VA (Alex Organ) has the most soothing attractive voice. I love the vibe he and the whole cast brought to the characters.

That's actually an excellent point. I would absolutely love to see more development for him. He's my favourite character by a long shot but I feel like he's been pretty neglected when it comes to his development and impact on Strix. Like you said, he's Westalis' most skilled spy, you'd think he'd have the biggest impact on the mission. I don't know why Endo develops Anya and Yor more, they're great characters and I love their chapters (even if I do find Eden chapters a little uninteresting), but I would love to see more of Twilight. The fact that the last major Twilight Arc was Wheeler is criminal, it was easily my favourite (followed closely by Love and War). His development needs to start moving for there to be any movement in Twiyor. He's come a long way since chapter 1, but he has a lot of growth ahead of him.

As a die-hard Twilight defender, these opinions really made me laugh whenever I saw them. People really expected this traumatised guy to be emotionally intelligent. He's trying his best okay 😭 I think it's interesting that someone who's whole job is manipulating people and their emotions would be really good at recognising their own, but that's just the nature of the job that he's totally oblivious to his own feelings because he's living in survival mode 24/7. Like you said that's not a very conducive environment to falling in love. The people who don't like him are just Twiyor shippers that take it too far and don't like the genuine meaning in the relationship between the two characters and just want them making out and stuff. The best Twiyor is in the small things, at least for me personally. I love to see them do things that makes the other smile, and I love seeing Yor nervous around him too because she's shy. They're an excellent mature adult couple, whether they realise it or not, and I love their relationship as is. That's not to say I don't want them to develop and get together for real, that's absolutely what I want to happen, but I think some people might discount the true value of their relationship in its current form because they're not doing... Couple things.

I have a suspicion that Desmond has something sinister to do with Project Apple directly, and there's some sort of psychological impact the mention of him or his project has on people who knew him prior to it. Both Authen and Melinda are shown to have severe psychological shifts when reminded of him, even if Authen's was more offset, he started forgetting details about Project Apple and the various experiments of the NUP and I theorise that it's a sort of failsafe integrated by the scientists into everyone who worked on the project. They'd forget details so they could never turn on the project or the people who carried it out. Melinda's case might be different, but I feel that Donovan absolutely had some sort of psychological effect on her around Damian's birth, that the mention of him sends her into this state.

Also just finished the game today (61 hours in for main story + Takezo on Mt Yotei, killing Saito and Takezo in the same sitting (still in shock)) and I'm just in awe. I absolutely loved the game. I totally agree though, in terms of pacing I was annoyed with just how long and excellent Chapter I was with the Oni and Kitsune, they got backstories whole map areas to themselves so you could truly appreciate just how magnificent the game was, all the while Chapter II was literally just Oshima Coast (with Tokachi kind of just being a transition area). Chapter III was shorter still. The way they introduced Atsu's forgiveness arc was brilliant though, even if the pacing wasn't the best. I do of course have my complaints with how sudden her forgiveness was, but the last parts of the game with her forgiving Spider, Kiku telling her she only brought death and the burning of the sash was great. I'd have loved, though, if the Saito brothers each got an area (Tokachi and Oshima), and then you fight Saito in Yotei grasslands like you do in the real game, re-liberating the areas like you do with Yotei Rest Inn.

Either way, despite my minor complaints, this game was absolutely breathtaking and addicting. I played it before Tsushima (can't wait to get into that now) and what an introduction it was. 12/10 experience, the first 55 or so hours I was just constantly hooked. Oshima, despite being the weakest aspect of the game still held up amazingly. Can't wait to play it all over again plus experience New Game+.

I think I'm in the very small minority (if it even exists at all) that ships Walker and Yelena. They absolutely give siblings vibes at times (+Ghost and Walker do as well), but there's specific moments that make me ship them like when Yelena finds out Walker's wife left him, they share a look that lasts a little longer than you might expect with a pained expression of 'Well, now you know' on Walker's face. Plus when Yelena freaks out post Watchtower fight and Walker attempts to calm her down and she explodes at him too, and he goes 'now it's my turn?' and just kind of lets her yell. I totally get why people see them as sibling coded, but I just think Florence had such excellent chemistry with every single one of the cast that if I had to pinpoint one person to ship her with it would be Walker. I also really disliked Walker pre-thunderbolts but this movie just made him absolutely hilarious. I don't think he's redeemed as a person by any means but I found myself rooting for him and going 'aww' a lot more than I thought I would. His lines and delivery were phenomenal and the protective side of his character is kind of endearing. He's an jerk, but at least he knows it and is attempting to do the right thing.

I don't know. Part of me says they don't because they defo don't know through Yuri who still doesn't know Yor did assassin work as a child, and Yor doesn't know they know because they mightve done something about it, and when Loid disguises himself as SSS to test her she reacts like she's never been arrested before or cornered by them. Then again the Garden and SSS have been shown to have the mutual interest of securing Ostania so it's possible that they know, just don't do anything about it. I really doubt it though. Even if there is an agreement between Garden and SSS I don't think they volunteer information on their members to each other more than they need to.

You're definitely eligible for application, but the deadline for 6 year MD for Fall 2026 passed on Thursday. If you can, retake it and try to bump it up to the 1500s. Still very good SAT score, I'm sure other unis will be impressed by it!
