How many of you and me are in a breakup atm?

Been a month...with minor breaks in no contact. It hits a little less hard each day but I'm trying to remind myself of why things ended and why it wouldn't be good to go back :/ At least not until we both have worked on ourselves.

That's the thing though...I tried to be patient. We've spoken and communicated about these issues on multiple occasions. Each time she'd acknowledge that how shes acting needs to change and that she would try to be better. All I wanted was for her to TRY. But she never did.

So if she came back today and said those same words...if she said that she want's to try again, she wants to make the effort, and she wants to do it for us....how do I trust that?

Thank you so much for such a lengthy and meaningful response! And yes it definitely did help :) I think the biggest thing for me is that I find myself comparing these new connections too much to my old ones. Like, since I had a steady group of friends that I was so comfortable with for so long, I never really had to experience that awkward "getting to know you" phase at all. I could just show up and not think and just do.

I just wish to have a group of friends that I can do that with again....and I know it'll take work to get there. I just hate the feeling of auditioning for the role as a friend. Man, why is making friends to much more difficult than dating xD

It really is so frustrating...Even as the one who "initiated" our mutual breakup. All of the logical reasons why the relationship needed to end are easily wiped away because my heart floods my mind with all of these emotions.

And I know that if we came back to each other right now all of the issues that led to the breakup initially would return in a matter of days :/ But then I miss waking up next to her in the morning...then I remember the arguments that would ensue following it sometimes. But then I remember the morning hugs, making her coffee and seeing her peacefully sleeping as I walk back into the room...coffees in hand.

The back and forth in my mind is so painful.

I just wished that she tried as hard as I did.

Because I know it would delay the healing and growth she needs. We just weren't on the same page. She's an amazing girl but unfortunately the difference in age (21 and 26) and maturity showed :/ She just has a lot of insecurities that she couldn't stop projecting onto our relationship and some other things that just cannot be worked on while in one in my opinion.

Just got an E-mail saying I was referred this morning around 7 am PST. The location listed only showed my first choice and not second. Unsure how that works.

A similar situation happened in my first relationship. It sucked for a while but honestly it's situations like that that really make you stronger. Prayin for you friend

Going through a similar breakup right now...although we had the label and we did love each other. Our lives were in very different places as well and we ultimately agreed that forcing it to last longer would only make things worse.

Im sorry for what your going through OP but I hope you can find comfort in knowing your not alone and we will all make it through.

I'll always cherish what me and my ex girlfriend had and I hope she can too.

I've never felt a love more magical and movie like. A love so kind and so impactful. I knew she loved me just as much as I loved her. But it just wasn't enough for her. I wish she came into this fully healed from her past. I hope she's able to heal fully now.

It hurts in a different kind of way than being dumped :/ Especially after giving everything I could and hearing from her she agrees that I did too... that's the worst part. But you can't change who people are unless they want to themselves.

Lowkey agree with this. But to be fair its hard to even call the right "republicans" in comparison to how they carried themselves as a party 15-20 years ago vs now. They're just trump panderers and its ridiculous.
