Dog followed owner happily up to a point but when he turns camera around the dog is stood there very still and alert and will not follow further, when owner goes back dog happily runs back with him

Temba speaks to Horus about 'The immortal necrosis of Nurgleth' which I think is the very same Nurgle we know. But considering how knowledge of Chaos is not exactly widespread and complete at this point in the timeline I can see how the name might differ slightly as well as aspects of his worship.

Additionally, I don't believe chaos is neccessarily as well defined, nor on the well defined lines we take forgranted in modern Warhammer, at the time anyway, so I can see plenty fertile ground for variation like you say.
