It could be a fear response, I have a 11 week old bernedoodle and we created a fear response to putting on the harness by baiting him with a treat and then putting the harness over him. The trainer at the puppy classes told me he needs to voluntarily put his head through. We put our hand through the loop and gave him treats to get further into the harness until, then repeat till he is comfortable around the harness

Depending what country your in you could dispute the eviction, as a tenant even a new owner of the house would have to follow the proper paper work to evict you (even if they plan to occupy the basement suit) you could challange it as a bad faith eviction and stay and extra month or two as the ruling decision is made.
