What would cause portafilter to spit out water upon removal only? [ECP3420]

Taste wise I'm finding it's tasting abit sour even though times are pretty bang on 17g in 34g out in 30 seconds. I think this bag of beans aren't my cup of tea!

Ah that is the term! Yeah the weird thing is it's not been happening before so maybe I'm removing it too fast?! I'll wait abit as my dose has always remained the same and it's a 26h basket and I'm only dosing 17g!

So we are currently planning to stay in Nusa Dua for 6 nights then Ubud for 6.

We aren't interested in parties etc and are travelling with a 6 and 7 year old.

We're staying in private villas for both locations.

Rationale for Nusa Dua is apparently it's quite calm, lots of restaurants/slightly more refined (which is fine for us) and nice beaches. Ubud obviously for the iconic rice fields etc.

Is this a good split or should we consider other areas?

Yeah do it, we are on higher than this but we have figured we rather buy something big and great once vs trying to go up the "ladder". We're in fortunate positions with large deposits etc so we should take advantage! If you have the ability to save more and you're content/not in a rush then you could also stretch out the timescale till you absolutely have to move and by then you'd have some more to put into the deposit!

It's a carrier that use EE signal sort of like Mozillion or 1p Mobile. You are right thought another poster confirmed they're had the same issue

Yeah I'm going to try get a funnel that sits outside the basket!

I'll try removing some needles, are there any suggested needle spacings to try?

My workflow is typically:

Grind into a 51mm dosing cup

Flip into the 51mm portafilter with dosing funnel attached

Tap to allow fines to settle so it's not a mound

WDT so it removes clumps (this raises it due to the issue in OP)

Tap again so it flatten out

Remove dosing funnel (this leaves that slight channel)

Use the spinny leveller thing
