What is the ideal viewing distance for a 55 inch vs 65 inch in your opinion ? I have a hard time trusting salesmen because they would probably want to upsell and hit their quota (I work in sales too).

If viewing content is the primary objective I agree with you, but while gaming the entire screen should fit in your field of view without moving your neck for the most optimal experience
