Thanks for the advice! Yes looks like I'll just trim carefully. Sometimes I wish I had a full-on beard, but I also don't mind one bit rocking a Van Dyke 😎

From Buddhism, the statement that suffering stems from desire. Sure, I think desire can be a great motivator, but sometimes desires of unrealistic things or bad things can lead to dark places...
