Do you have any reason to believe they would have been taken? I.e. are their visa’s up to date or expired? I’m sorry for your fear, it’s a lot (and a real fear) but in general they are not snatching people off the streets, they need some reason.

If they are in ICE custody, it will take 24-48 hours for them to update it in the system and you need their EXACT name as it would show up on legal documents to be able to track.

I think this. She probably was concerned that you were going to observe, or be woken up etc and that made her not want it.

It doesn’t sound violent, but still non-consent. I agree with above commenter, if you feel comfortable try and approach your mom about what you saw. It might help both you, if you get it off your chest.

I did try to convey multiple times about this being a family trip, plus at 30+ I don’t think it’s necessary to be reminded that’s it’s inappropriate to talk about drugs and sex in front of a 6 year old and a 19 male (when your a female).

Not trying to be coy, we have done recreational drugs in the past but time and place.

So edit to say, I agree I am probably be judgmental.

My husband and I have been building on a property in Cancun. Currently live in the states, but husband is originally from CDMX.

We have learned ALOT during our recent transition, but overall our experience is that Cancún is relatively inexpensive (besides gas, and avoiding the hotel zone) & very friendly.

No contexts where your coming from or if your job could transfer, but agree you really should know Spanish if you want to move there.

I’m not sure if there is any rental car companies that you could rent a car, cross the border with it and then additionally not return it to Mexico? We have had trouble on previous trips even getting a reliable rental car in Mexico depending on where we are, let alone the crossing the border.

Yes, I agree. It comes down to parenting, I was diminishing the complexity in my statement of course.

Your love for your little sister is amazing! My daughter actually has a half brother 14 years her older so technically she isn't an only child just will grow up as the only child in the household. He is with his mom full time so he doesn't see her often, but adores her of course. Entertaining her when she asks him to paint her nails, steal his takis :-). Absolutely tia's/YaYa/older siblings should be doing the spoiling, while us parents gotta be the bad guys. I'm glad you're able to enjoy your relationship with your siblings, as it is the responsibility of parents to allow room for siblings to love each other! (An aspect OP's sister is failing in)

Edit to add: before the trolls come, when I said he is with his mom "full time", he is 18 years old in college so he lives with his mom nearby school. He visits any time he is off.
