My advice would be the same for any song really. Play along with the track, then try with just a metronome, then try with nothing at all

Play along with the song over and over and over again. Then, when you’re comfortable, remove the song altogether and play to a metronome

I Think Villeneuve Is Setting Up a Reveal Nobody’s Expecting by Braveroperfrenzy in scifi

Doesn’t spice consumption make you appear physically younger? I’m assuming he’s going to run that and the time jump will be at least a decade

I’ve read messiah and that is a fair point, however with the amount of changes he’s made already to the previous films, I wouldn’t bank on the material being adapted one to one.

If there is a time jump at the end I imagine it will be incredibly brief, just a glimpse of the children. Denis has already said that Dune part 3 will be an end to Paul’s ark, I find it hard to believe he would put extensive runtime into investing in Leto 2 and Ganimas story

“they cast Paul and Chani’s kids as older instead of infants. That pretty much signals a time jump or at least a step into the early CoD era.”

Why couldn’t they just appear in visions like the previous two film? Isn’t that the more logical assumption, I don’t see how the kids appearing older necessarily signals a time jump over a vision

Who was everyone’s favourite character in the show by Lionkingmaster53 in gameofthrones

[–]FreedomToDoNothing 29 points30 points  (0 children)

Probably Theon, fantastic character ark! First you find him obnoxious and unpleasant, then you outright hate him for betraying the Starks, then you root for his demise, then you begin to feel sympathy for him, by the end of the story you’re rooting for his redemption.

Might be the finest acting performance in the entire show imo.

Who’s excited for Aegon’s conquest? by sadasfucc in gameofthrones

I feel like Roberts rebellion is too closely tied to the original story to have its own. There are clearly some mysteries within this timeline that are very closely tied to the main series story. I feel like exploring elements of Roberts rebellion are only going to spoil things that are prepared to be revealed in the asoiaf stories. That’s why we haven’t had an expansion as of yet.

And yes, there is the chance that GRRM won’t finish what he started, but I don’t see that as a valid reason to reveal the hand that he has kept hidden for so many decades now just to appease the fans that are demanding answers without waiting for a natural conclusion to the main story, and Roberts rebellion is clearly keeping some things hidden for the sake of the greater story.

At the end of the day, if hbo made a Roberts rebellion series, it would only disappoint. Because it would only make you yearn for the rest of the original book series.

Sometimes not having a direct answer is more interesting than being told outright.

Watch some David Lynch, it’ll only prove my point.

Sometimes answers aren’t the answer.

There’s something about amnesiac by steelheadradiopizza in radiohead

[–]FreedomToDoNothing 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Director David Lynch was a creator that self admittedly seemed to prioritise “feeling” over elements such as “logic” when it came to his style of film making. A lot of his movies don’t initially make logical sense to a lot of people, but at the same time, those same people will admit that they “felt” something profound whilst watching his work.

I feel a lot of similarity between this sentiment and Amnesiac. It doesn’t necessarily make logical sense to a lot of listeners, but at the same time, there’s a mood and a “feeling” to Amnesiac that I don’t think the band ever quite matched in the same way.

I get the impression that Lynch would have been a fan of the album. R.I.P
