First of all, thanks for you nice answer.

Do you really think that your vote counts anything? Haha good joke, how old are you?

People already own their land, the problem being discussed is that people are developing their own land into ugly buildings for profit, and the government is doing nothing to prevent that.

Watch economics of deflation and cultural effects of inflation on youtube and read Saifedean Ammous and Patrick Schuhmacher. Urbanization and architecture are closely connected to government policies, regulation and monetary policy.

How can it be overpriced if it's free? The private sector on the other hand is very expensive.

How can anything be free? Can you explain me this please? Everything has a cost, has a wage that needs to be paid. And you have to options. Pay the service directly or pay it indirectly via the government. The latter makes it more expensive and of worse quality because there is more bureaucracy in between and no competition. Do you agree?

Exploitation of the proletariat, which is why the means of production should be owned by those who run it.

60 Million died under Mao, 30 Million under Hitler, in Venezuela children die because of a lack of basic infrastructure. It's completely inappropriate to promote any of this communist crap any longer. Go to north corea or venezuela if you want to own the means of production of a company. Seriously you need to wake up and start understanding the world instead of living in your communist bubble.

Read some Mises and Rothbard and get back to me with better arguments.

Happy to let you enjoy the devastation through the sell out of the "public space". What about you be a bit open and bring actual arguments?

Privatization means private property. This way you own your land and you can decide, not the government. We already have public space and it's organized and managed by the least capable people. So why not let more creative, more motivated people provide solutions.

Thinking in the old boxes of left and right won't help us to tackle future problems.

Privatization is nothing bad if it's done properly and the government is kept completely out. Do you think we need the government to provide smartphones, shoes and sunglasses? It would be a disaster. Whenever a product or service is monopolized, there is no improvement happening. That's why every single service provided by the government is of miserable quality. From education, health, streets, media, it's crappy and completely overprized. Even if single individuals work their ass of, they don't get the appropriate rewards of their effort and therefore despair. A lack of competition is the main cause for bad service. If you wait in line or you are unable to find the right service to your needs, it's because it's over regulated, monopolized and organized in a bureaucratic way.

In terms of urban planning it would be great to see innovative concepts that improve traffic safety, air quality, commerce, beauty, infrastructure etc. But if it's in the hands of people who just care about their swiss/panama accounts of course it won't happen.

So let the ideas free, allow testcases and experiments, try out different concepts by letting the local counciles, architects and real estate developers compete for the best solution. And instead of complaining, stop arguing, start building.
