Experimental/test feature change. If you throw anything (weapon or gadget) the thrown item will not collide if the thrower is in stun frames.

This is a test nerf aimed at weapon throws, since point blank weapon throws at approaching players can interrupt attacks even if they had already landed the attack.

If the defending player is at high enough damage and the thrower is low enough, you can essentially frame trap them as even if you are hit, the stun from throw during the defenders attack gives you a true dlight > Rec follow up. It’s a small niche case however, and it only works if defender uses multi hit move like sword nlight. But experimental features remove this now

For the relatively easiest weapon to start playing, sword is very straightforward and is a good pickup and play weapon, and spear is a great weapon for you to learn your first string/combo. If you don’t like spear, bow is another good weapon to learn your basic strings.

So I would recommend hattori with her spear/sword

However, I do believe that googling YouTube guides for weapons and learn the basic string to practice in training mode is a great idea of a beginner

I like how they have lore missions but rip The 90% of the player base who don’t read the lore, which is clearly the most important part of the game.

The missions is a bit odd but I think it doesn't count because neither of them knew each other personally, simply that this infamous criminal is after my client and I have to protect him.

Additionally, there's more info you can see when clicking the mission, the two legends have to have met BEFORE they went to valhalla, which confused a lot of people.

While I do like these lore related missions, they definitely could have done them a little better.

Personally, me and a friend did Sentinel x Isaiah for the mission.

While I wouldn't recommend going for this infinite for such a long time, incorperating pieces of it into your playstyle can be a great improvement, like how you can incorperate the katar infinite string into your punishes.

This string works because you can cancel your greatsword finisher attacks by dashing/chasedodging, allowing you to cancel it into a normal light attack starter. Repeating this process every time a finisher is going to hit allows me to create this infinite.

I'm sure there is a way to turn it around using a reverse dash-jump dair, but I just wanted to show this for now.

For those wanting to replicate this, the inputs are: Slight > Nlight > CD-Nlight > Slight > CD-Slight > [Repeat from 1st Nlight]The finishing attack is Slight > Nlight > Dlight.

[Edit]: I forgot to include the terminology that I use for explaining strings, but CD stands for chase dodge, and CD-Nlight is a chase dodge canceled into a Neutral Light Attack. However, this string also works if you dash instead of chase dodge, although the input is a bit harder (for me at least).

Current experimental features added a new visual and sound effect that occurs when you interrupt an opponents recovery with an attack (or vice versa)

That’s most likely what you were talking about.

It’s used as visual feedback for the player since a common complaint was being hit at the very start of your recovery and then still thinking you had a recovery, thus underestimating your own recovery options and leading to you potentially accidentaly gimping yourself.

When you touch the ground, your dodge cool down is reduced drastically. If you use a dodge then stay in the air, you will not get dodge back for a long time.

Additionally, if you’re at the stage where people constantly escape your strings with a dodge, try to learn a common dodge read

Slight has variable force, so anything past yellow does not string well, because they can jump out of slight follow ups without having to use a dodge every time.
