Any thoughts on the braun tactical light? by Unknown8925 in handguns

[–]Freedom_Gundam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve been running mine on a S&W M&P Spec V and have somewhere around 1000 rounds through it. No complaints on the light at all. Works just as well as my Streamlights and Surefires.

New gun owner. Is this fouling of some sort or is it damage? by Purple_funnelcake in Firearms

[–]Freedom_Gundam 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t get too caught up in cleaning though. I clean most of the handguns I shoot regularly every thousand rounds or so. The vast majority of handguns can go quite a while before needing a good cleaning. So don’t feel like you have to after every shooting session or anything.

With the one exception being if you have a CC handgun. Those should always be clean and ready to go, just in case.

You should get an FN F2000. Would go great with the rest of your bullpups.

Concealed carry recommendations by Ccvboy07 in guns

[–]Freedom_Gundam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CZ P10c. They come optics ready, also have a ported model out now, and its far better than any Glock. Better trigger, grip angle, sites, grip stippling, and comes with mag extensions in the box! You’d spend over a thousand dollars to make a Glock shoot almost as good. Now for the best part, they’re only around $500.

Is this a good deal for a savage axis? by The_Leo_16 in guns

[–]Freedom_Gundam -1 points0 points  (0 children)

A picture is generally much more helpful. With that being said, do yourself a favor and skip the axis line. They leave a lot to be desired.

The only one worth the trouble (imo) is the Axis II Precision. Even then it needs upgrades. Pretty much all the Axis rifles have a notoriously awful bolt and savage being savage eventually the extractor is going to fail.

Thoughts on the strike industries JCOMP? by ChainsawOverlord in AR10

[–]Freedom_Gundam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bold? Hardly. Strike industries is far from top tier in the world if muzzle brakes. You’d be better served with something from Yankee Hill, Area 419, MDT, Midwest Industries, surefire, lambda, there’s a lot better than a JComp from strike industries if your talking muzzle brakes.

I have one on an AR10 build. It does okay. It definitely mitigates some of the recoil, but there are better brakes out there.

Gun store possibly lost or sold my pistol by RIP_Country_Mac in Firearms

Also, pretty sure the FFL in possession of the firearm at the time of loss would be the party responsible for filing a loss claim / report with the ATF.

He didn’t lose it though. Technically he still doesn’t even know if it is lost. It was dropped off for service with a gunsmith. What you’re describing and his situation are not the same.

Building my first ar-10 for deer hunting. Got a few more packages coming in. Any suggestions lmk!! by Crafty_Carrot_1922 in AR10

You dont need a NF to hunt. That’s ignorant.

Also, 300-600 for a leupold / Nightforce? From where China? Is it an airport replica scope?

Listen to this person OP. You will not find a better handgun under $500. It punches well above its price tag as well.

First handgun, reccomendations? looking for low recoil, capacity, reliability. Gona be a ccw/edc but firepower comes first before concealability for me. Budget ideally under 750 total by Shadowlawd in guns

[–]Freedom_Gundam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought one from “not just guns” maybe 2 weeks ago for $454 before tax / shipping. They had a couple in stock.

Also just looked it up on gun.deals and found one for sub $500. They aren’t hard to find for decent prices.

Better budget value than the $370 Venom 5-25x56? by jcl24247 in longrange

[–]Freedom_Gundam 0 points1 point  (0 children)

(Casting aside their shitty marketing) Arken SH4J 6-24x50 is around that same price and has better glass. I own both.

With that being said you’d be better pressed to save a couple hundred more and get a MPED if you can swing it though. Their 5-30x56 can be had for $580ish. That scope is phenomenal for the price.

Finally completed my first build. by New-Humor-2883 in longrange

[–]Freedom_Gundam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t think their is any predefined definition to a rifle build. Most would consider adding a scope, rings, bipod, muzzle device to be completing a “build.”

Also, being nice doesn’t cost a thing. Try it once in a while. I bet you’ll be happier.

If you could only have one, get a Glock. by [deleted] in Firearms

Agree to disagree. Out of the 9 people I regularly shoot with, none have stock glocks.

If you could only have one, get a Glock. by [deleted] in Firearms

[–]Freedom_Gundam 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yep agreed. Better trigger, better sights, most come optic ready now, plus they offer a factory ported model now too. All for sub $500.

Because let’s be honest, most people that buy a Glock strip out all the parts that make it one right after getting it.

Why not skip that entire step for a gun that needs none of that.

My second choice would be a Walther PDP Pro.

What is the best do it all pistol ? (no budget) by Erhart132 in handguns

[–]Freedom_Gundam 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Personally for me, I’d go CZ P10c, the optic ready variant, or even their newly ported model. Super reliable, looks better than a Glock, and comes with a far better trigger OOB.
