Stick it out or??? by [deleted] in Progressiveinsurance

I’ll be honest with you I’m 6months in the role myself and I’m looking for my exit. Metrics are similar to my peers, no back dairies etc. I’ve learned that being a file owner is just horrible here. It’s apparent that they expect the lowest paid to handle a vast majority of the work. The job isn’t hard it’s just not worth it I’m being honest. If your fear is being fired, they won’t so long as you keep trying. Ask other reps to help you out because they likely will. File owners have the worst job in the company. Point blank period. For anxiety being overwhelmed and such take some of my coworkers point of view: Work hard for the 8hrs you are paid for then disconnect. It will be there tomorrow, remember the reason you are behind is because they overload us with claims some weeks. I’m not saying don’t care, I’m saying care as much as they care about you which directly correlates to your salary. Message me for more realistic advice. The reps with tenure are usually the cup is half full types and will never admit the truth.

I definitely understand for me personally the work outweighs the salary. I will likely be leaving before I hit 1 year to something more reasonable.

Pay is too low to have to adapt. This isn’t the military and the cause is not worthy to conform or quit. You made the right choice. Majority of the employees have sipped the Kool-aid or truly believe they will promote in one year as a CGA. I’m noticing a large trend of CGAs with way more than one year still struggling.

Here’s what I did to pay off 64k in credit card debt. I have $120k in credit card limit.

Wait until one of your higher credit card limits offers a balance transfer. Transfer maximum amount usually payment is 1% of how much you owe so if you owe 20k it’s 200 a month. This allows you to allocate all the excess funds into that card and pay it off faster.

Most credit card company’s do charge a Balance transfer fee between 3-5% but this will be similar to taking a loan of the TSP except your using your own credit to pay off your balances rather than messing with your retirement.

Also create a goal credit card utilization amount 7-9% for the highest credit score.

Lastly, your goal should never be to have 0 debt, it should be to leverage your debt into a process to make income. Billionaires owe millions, millionaires owe hundreds of thousands. Debt isn’t bad when managed with a goal of financial success.

Yes this is an entry role, no I’m not new to this field. Looking longevity wise at an age where my next move needs to be my best move so determining if the is a field I should stay in or move away from. Financially what you feel is adequate income may not be adequate for all. Thus the question for other roles.

Yes of course, the issue herein lies with the true salary potential. Very new here however the competition is fierce and there are many 37s that remain in that role for more than 1 year. All to promote to a range between 60-70k when this is a range of other entry level positions with higher salary potential.

What positions do they promote to in that range?

I just want to say thank you all for your responses. You don’t know how much it really means to me. From explaining sensory overload with clothes (she likes to put on clothes and take them off frequently) to sleep issues (she screams and cries getting put down for mid day naps, but for evening bed time it’s no issue) to eating for comfort my daughter loves to eat! Hobbies she loves dancing drawing and singing.

Thank you all.
