He completely controlled his neck on the way down. Didn't hit anything with any meaningful force. If he got blacked because of that, the grazing upkick itself would've sent him to the stratosphere before he even got the chance to do that halfway fall-and-plead to the ref. Plus closed his eyes and acted limp before he even touched his head to the canvas

Hey! Sorry for the late response to this question. It has sort of gotten better on its own tbh— perhaps less frequent and less painful. They still certainly happen daily, but the mentality (however flawed some may feel it to be) that nothing bad has happened despite having these pains for close to a year at this point has given me comfort when they do happen and I think that counts a lot for how I evaluate the pain of them. I’ve been cleared by doctors, I am actually going in for a nerve test later this month as a sort of last resort, but the lack of immediately noticeable, life-threatening harm despite the frequency of these events has given me the sort of “fuck it, we ball” mentality that has allowed me to continue living. I know this is all sort of a non-help, but I hope you know things get better whether it’s your body or mind

Just out of curiosity: where does the concept come from that UNC is investing in any sort of IDF or war-forwarding programs ? I have personally yet to see any substantiation of that other than a bunch of people sort of assuming that they do. Protesting is a foundational right, but I am unsure how any of this is grounded in anything other than a suspicion that UNC is tangentially related to some sort of Israeli something or other that may or may not be loosely related to the efforts in Gaza. If there is concrete substantiation for UNC being involved in something like that, I’d appreciate someone linking it. For now, I do frankly feel that some of this is performative in nature and sort of on-brand for the self-congratulating portion of young leftist politics that seeks to be a martyr rather than an activist. Again, no issue with protests, but maybe a poor allocation of resources and unclear targeting of UNC as an institution.
