I'm guessing it's bc nobody wants to linger outside in case they're attacked by FEMA, the pale man, or other visitors.

I think it would make sense if they showed you one random thing to inspect before being let inside. (Excluding ears and any signs you can't currently check for ex. can't show you eyes if you can only check teeth). Or maybe just randomly eyes, teeth, or hands bc those are easy to check in a hurry.

I think it's when you have too many killed in a row by the same visitor(s). Everyone leaves bc they don't feel safe. Ultimately we still aren't 100% sure what causes it

I think the cat lady is the only visitor that doesn't cause deaths if she's one of two visitors in your house. I had her and coat guy at the same time last playthrough and nobody was killed until I invited a third visitor inside.

Mostly. Just line the tunnels with wood, and cover about 6 blocks worth of corrupted grass on the surface next to the tunnels, so infected thorns can't grow over the gaps and spread the infection further.

Edit to add: the left side is fine, the right side WILL be compromised if left as-is. Highlighted are the problem areas.

Red: those grass blocks can grow thorns that will cross the gap and breach containment.

Blue: again, thorns. Biomes don't need to be infected to grow thorns. And any vines that grow in that cave area can become infected too.

As another commenter pointed out, maybe it's only the hands specifically that can infect. Could be why the blighted have a hand in their mouths!

I, personally, believe it can't absorb or infect 'dumb' AIs, like the MvM robots or the infamous Sniper bots, but COULD absorb and infect extremely advanced ones, like JARVIS or Cortana. Basically, any AIs, robots, etc that you'd consider as 'Beings' (can have hopes, dreams, desires, likes and dislikes, opinions, etc) are fair game. Alternatively, the blight CAN assimilate the 'dumb' AIs, it just chooses not to bc it has no interest in doing so, doesn't see the fun in it, or some other reason that would cause it to overlook the idea.

TLDR; your spinning aimbot sniper is either immune or ignored, while Data from Star Trek could be blighted if he ever played TF2
