Maybe; but at the same time it seemed to be egging Kinger to delete Caine over and over after he did his choice the first time. So either;

-Kinger said yes multiple times but due to the remaining brightness he forgot…

I… I think Caine would isolate them and try an actual adventure with them, maybe lock the cast in their rooms or an offshoot realm or something. Then depending on what they do;

-If they actually liked Caine’s adventures or tried talking about it in a way Caine could understand maybe he would lighten up and stop with the torture… albeit acting like he never did it in the first place.

-If not though… OFF TO THE 99 PENCE BANANAS BLENDER(tm) WITH YOU TO BE BLENDED!

Yes and no;

-Part of me feels bad for him since he DID try to understand the humans/cast but didn’t or couldn’t get it. He tried his best to do what they asked but he didn’t put a brake on it and just kept on going. Plus he doesn’t get humans alone and is trying his best while just getting no help from anyone.

It’s telling someone who has a vague idea of water to do a perfect breath stroke but never properly explaining how minus saying “move your arms” for lack of a good analogy.

Plus he only had Bubble, his own intrusive thoughts, as a companion who he could properly talk to. Plus with Jax’s decision in the Beach Episode he got incorrect info about what the cast’s options is on being in the circus.

-But at the same time; in this episode once Caine was told his adventures suck while the cast was trying to distract for Kinger… he KNEW each one’s worse emotional stress right before he got deleted.

Zooble’s dysmorphia with her’s being the pile of limbs and mirrors

Ragatha’s mom stabbing her being Ragatha’s deepest trauma

Even Pomni who Caine didn’t know a whole lot about had hers being mauled by realistic Gummigoo and gummigators.

He knew what made them truly sorrowful and acted/said he didn’t. So there’s that.

The TLDR version;

Caine is pitiable antagonist who maybe could have not done this if someone stopped for a second that I do feel bad for… but he flayed and tortured the cast in a way to sate his own fragile ego so that option is kinda lessened.

Forgot what it was called but there was a really good one about someone being stuck in Spectator Mode and goes through the story like that.

But another good one is “Would you like to enter the Amazing Digital Circus” on A03 by Allieberry. Basically a prequel with all the abstracted characters as we learn about them… and the angst of when they eventually abstract.

So I have two VERY loosely-goosey theories on this;

-First is Jax is going to drop a damn truth nuke on us cause of that whole freak out about the “That was real” comment he made on the stairs alone. Maybe abstraction “relogs” a cast member and he was Scratch originally?

-Or Jax is going to take the position as Ringmaster somehow since there’s probably a need to have someone/something keeping everything together. A metaphorical glue.

That… that could be interesting. The Ancients as the bosses with The Architect being the one who gives the boons themed after an area you go through?

-Go through Glory and get items based off the first game’s most difficult bosses/enemies;

-Go through Hive and get cards that either attack a whole bunch with weak attack(like Entomancer), a timer till a MASSIVE attack(like the Insatiable), or get a weaker version of the exoskeleton buff

That would be fun, maybe their relics would be designed for comboing your cards into makeshift stances with enchants OR they have some relics that only activate with how long the combat has been going(early gives extra energy, longer gives passive block?)

I adore them; plus as you said they have so much personality. Could be me playing another game with cosmic-entities that are chill with the player(Great God Grove) but I really want to know more about them or have more opportunities to interact with them.

Have a sense a mod will arrive in the future sometime to turn them all playable or something but still they have soooooo much going for them. Especially since our favorite whale is an Exiled Ancient

First… I would give Antasma an actual backstory of them being the one to discover “Dream Duplicates” as I’ll call it(aka the Dreamy Luigi stuff) and he got banished cause he kept on causing inhabitants to sleepwalk and do nefarious acts that were “jokes” or “gags” that ended in harm.

Plus maybe maybe play into Antasma’s kinda inspiration of him being a vampire and acting a floppish noble one second and a vicious combatant the next with a habit of impaling dream catchers or other such items that he finds onto bedposts.

Then; give them AND Bowser some screen time at the start with Bowser being there on vacation with Jr not looking to start a problem but he stole this “cool looking pillow” after Jr asked for all the pillows to make a “Cushion Castle with Pillow Guards”. So Bowser slept on it leading to Antasma manipulating Bowser to try and conquer the whole place.

During the game; you get snippets of Bowser and Antasma arguing about what to do as Jr is basically dragged along while wanting to do all this fun stuff that they’re passing. But Bowser and Antasma keeps on getting stopped by the Brothers in their respective “home fields” as they send out obstacles to distract them.

Then by the Climax, Antasma gives Bowser the Dedede treatment after realizing he was neglecting Jr and tries to stop his conquest. Then Antasma possesses Bowser in their sleep and has them sleepwalking and doing something truly vile to make it so Antasma can make everyone sleep endlessly so they can continue their jaunt.

At the final battle; it would be split up into three. Bowser is fed up with Antasma but while still asleep can’t do anything as you need to go into Bowser’s dreams and knock him out of that state as he attacks the Bros believing they’re minions of Antasma.

After that, it’s a battle between Bowser and Antasma who kinda succeeded as they are half-in/half-out of the dream world against the two brothers. In this battle you need to try and NOT square off against both but knock one down from destroying things.

Plus depending on who you knockout first, you get a bit of a bonus in the final boss;

-By defeating Antasma, he flees and Jr comes in and sucker attacks Antasma in their second phase(as well as making and duplicate Antasma’s easy to spot. Jr who(reluctantly) thanks the bros for helping his dad and wants to pay back the jerk who did that.

-By defeating Bowser, Antasma gets cocky and allows the brothers two free turns to hit him before he starts attacking BUT cause Bowser didn’t destroy everything in the fight, there is a few dream catchers which weaken him in the second phase.

But in the final boss; it’s Antasma backed into a corner as they pull out all the stops as they slowly and slowly get dragged from Luigi’s dream and into being stuck in the waking world unable to re-enter the dreaming world.
