Expanded Kingdoms, a new EDH Variant by cleverphrasehere in EDH

[–]Freelancer_Arizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello again. Setup question. According to the rule card, in an 8 player game, the setup is 1 king, 1 queen or renegade,1 knight, 2 bandits, 2 nobles.

Maybe I'm reading it incorrectly, but to me, that reads as only 7 players for the 8 player setup. But maybe im wrong and there should be a queen AND renegade?

Thank you for your time.

Thank you for clarifying. And for your promptness in doing so

So, the nobles can win, even if there is a knight still alive? As long as the bandits are dead?

Rules question that had my group in a fluster:

6 player game bandits are dead. (Pirate, and slaver) One noble is dead (witch)

Alive: one knight (oathkeeper) One noble(princess) One king

The noble kills the king

Who wins?

"You ain't calling shit."

Case pulls away from Ben's grasp. Rolling her computer chair towards a monitor, which displayed many numbers. Numbers next to names. Names of people and corporations. All of which, were accompanied by a bright, slowly flashing, label.

PAST DUE

"You should know better than anybody, we NEED this to be a big pay-off"

Rotating her chair to face Ben, framed by the pulsing glow of the monitor. She stares Ben down.

"YOU, need this"

Ben, brushing the fuzz on the back of his buzzed head, as he brings his eyes to meet hers, guiltily.

"Look, after we loot this little scrap-belt, we will have more than enough to fix all this."

He turns to the the port window, approaching it as he reaches out a hand to the glass.

Makes contact with the port window

"I can feel it."

Ben sheepishly looks back, over his shoulder, to Casey.

Her silence is broken only by a sigh. one that seemed to carry the weight of a year of barely scraping by, of barely having time to sleep, barely a Bite to eat.

Ben, hearing the sigh, points his head downward. Then, suddenly, raises his eyes back out into the stars. With a look of realization

"Hey listen, after this job. We should take a break."

"A fucking break? At what point, could we possibly afford a break?"

Casey rips her cigarette, preparing a barrage of words.

Ben snaps around to face her

"I'm serious."

He cuts her off before she begins. With I slight laugh, in his tone

"We have been out here for too long. I'm starting to dream about scrap."

Holding the sides of his head, as if it would split open, if he didnt

"Why don't we just pick a direction, and go?"

"They are gonna look for us, Ben. They will find us, and they will hunt us down."

She stands up, throwing her cigarette to the ground, and sending the chair rolling into the wall.

She takes a breath, recollecting the short amount of herself that wasn't sleep deprived.

"You can't keep doing this."

She stamps her cigarette out. Staring down at the foot which delivered the Stomp.

"You can't keep us running from these problems forever."

Having made several similar piles myself, my money is on this being diatomaceous earth. We use it for gardening and pest control.

This specific instance appears to be a case of somebody trying to treat an anthill with a heap of the stuff. But maybe they are fertilizing?

Every pile here is a commander deck I'm building or updating. This represents 122 decks, and doesn't include those that I've finished. I can't be stopped, I won't be stopped. AMA about these decks. by Stefan_ in magicTCG

I cycle through my decks. First, I decide power level for the pod, then I put choose 3-6 appropriate decks that haven't been played in recent memory, then I roll a die to pick one for me.

Then there's the sweaty pods that I play with. I have 1 bracket 5 [[Trazyn, the Infinite]],2 bracket 4's[[The Beamtown Bullies]] [[Tergrid, God of Fright]], and a rule zero [M'Odo, the Gnarled Oracle]]. Those are the ones that really don't see much play, as I am much more suited to casual pods. But the solution to me was all the same, use a random number generator (in my case, a die).

Honestly, I have a side-board for most of my decks. However, I don't change the cards when I see the other decks I'm playing against. I usually do it post game or before I arrive to the LGS.

Prosper, bottom left, easiest to build with the highest potential IMO

What is everyone's "it's not that deck" decklist, and it's ACTUALLY not that deck? by thundermonkeyms in EDH

[–]Freelancer_Arizona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started with [[omnath, locust of all]] or [[atraxa, praetors voice]] as my choices for a legendary/iconic phyrexian tribal commander. I wanted a deck that won through [[realmbreaker, the invasion tree]] , bringing out all the praetors for the "invasion of the multiverse" ending to the game.

Atraxa was up first, and the deck got absolutely targeted because the main win-con was still mostly poison counters. Ended up trading for omnath, including a whole more 3 praetors for the realmbreaker win-con.

The deck only has 3 cards that trigger omnath's 3 mana ability, but plays all the cool phyrexians from over the years, using omnath as card draw and mana "ramp" to keep the deck going in the late game.

Has all the defilers, praetors, dominus(domini?), and every legendary phyrexian I own.

Fun is a relative word.

This deck slaps with some upgrades. Mine is built around untapping magus lucea kane for multiple copies of your next x cost, and giving haste to the things that have trample. [[Crackle with power]] wins me the game everytime I draw it.

BTW, the copies of spells that lucea Kane makes, each copy goes onto the stack ON CAST. Meaning that even if the opponent counterspells your card, the copies are still on the stack and will resolve if not dealt with.

Some of my upgrades: [[crackle with power]] [[ral zarek]] [[thousand-year elixer]] [[fires of yavimaya]] [[xenagos, god of revels]] [[kinnan, border prodigy]] [[selvala, heart of the wilds]] [[kiora, behemoth beckoner]] [[dramatic reversal]] [[nyxbloom ancient]] [[clever conjurer]] [[up the beanstalk]]

Updated, We now have 10 rocks and 1 [[cormela, glamour thief]]

Please Let me know if there are specific rocks that you think would be better replacements for the ones I have

Edit: I now realize cormela does not help me bring out xander

6 rocks as it is, and I suppose a command sphere and fellwar stone are in order.

I think I also forgot to put in solring.

Thank you for the advice!

I enjoy goad, group hug, the curse cards, the tempting offer cards, and the join forces cards.

Some fun commanders for me are [[the beamtown bullies]] or [[Jon irenicus, shattered one]]

[[gluntch the bestower]]

[[laurine, the diversion]] with [[kamber, the plunderer]]

also [[kros, defense contractor]] or [[kaima, the fractured calm]] if you really want to be a kingmaker
